I'm just confused. I do fear God, and love him, but I think I fear him more. But if you love someone or something, you're not supposed to be afraid, are you?

For a religion that so openly goes against Homosexuality, sex before marriage, unnatural sex acts, and the such, how did Adam and Eve's children get around the obvious Moral dilemma of incest.Furthermore, where the heck were the dinosaurs and saber tooth tigers? Or is it more likely this was one of those times the bible was NOT meant to be taken literally.

I know im going to get the typical atheist response of, the whole thing is a lie, but, well... i guess thats ok too!!!

In my two previous posts, I was accused of taking the meaning of scripture out of context, or was encouraged to "pray for understanding" of the discrepancies. I have been a student of the bible for over 30 years, and have undertaken "deep study", as one respondant suggested. The following are precepts that can be understood exactly as written:

LK 12:33, TI 6:8 Sell your possessions and give to charity. Be content with having only food and clothing. Many believers "interpret" this to apply only to those who are wealthy or have a problem with wealth. That this is not the case is clear from the context. It is also clear that the Disciples practiced this principle; see AC 2:44-45 and 4:32-35. This is in sharp contrast to the concept of abundance that many christians preach and to the personal wealth they often amass.)

LK 14:33 "... any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."

MT 5:22 Do not get angry. Anger is a sin.

Then why is is written using devices found in fictional literature and not as a manual or guide book?

If we are all supposed to understand it the same way and use it's principles to shape our lives why is it subject to such varying interperetation?

The father, now divorced, who is my friend, had named his sister as godmother. Now, years later, the sister and his parents had turned against him, the father. He has had no contact with any of them. They would NOT testify on his behalf when he divorced and sought custody. They refuse to not only forgive this very nice man, but speak falsely and ill of him. He wants no part of them forever. They are indeed vicious.

Someone said he MUST invite his sister and parents to the conformation of his daughter.

Any outs of, or to circumvent any of this?

His Catholic girlfriend is cornering him into a fancy multi-thousand dollar conformation expense for his daughter with new clothes for the child, a solid gold cross, white bible qnd new white pocketbook/gloves, and a formal sit down dinner in a restaurant.

I am not a Catholic. Are there any ways around this, all or any modifications allowed, such as not inviting the god mother, naming a new godmother or none, his parent

Does the Bible Teach?
1. Why does it condemn clerical dress? (Matt. 23:5-6).
2. Why does it teach against the adoration of Mary? (Luke 11:27-28).
3. Why does it show that all Christians are priests? (1 Pet. 2:5,9).
4. Why does it teach that all Christians are saints? (1 Cor. 1:2).
5. Why does it condemn the making and adoration of images? (Ex. 20:4-5).
6. Why does it teach that baptism is immersion instead of pouring? (Col. 2:12).
7. Why does it forbid us to address religious leaders as "father"? (Matt. 23:9).
8. Why does it teach that Christ is the only foundation and not the apostle Peter? (1 Cor. 3:11).
9. Why does it teach that there is one mediator instead of many? (1 Tim. 2:5).
10. Why does it teach that a bishop must be a married man? (1 Tim. 3:2, 4-5).
11. Why is it opposed to the primacy of Peter? (Luke 22:24-27).

I mean, is all this arguement at least helping SOME people?

DISCLAIMER: I know there are still people asking legitimate questions and are having honest problems, but the majority is just junk.

If not, I'm definetely going to reconsider this whole thing.

Too many hypocrites; too many people mocking God. 99% of the Athiests here do not want to learn about Christ, they just want to mock and/or debate him.

Have you ever seen someone changed spiritually over the internet?

Do you think God's plan is that you show the love Christ gave you over the internet?

Aren't we judged by our fruits?

...something to think about. I've noticed that I minister to people WAY better in person, heart to heart.

I say, let them mock God, I'll go teach someone that wants to hear.

For starters....... my top reason is that the majority thinks He isn't coming back at all. Many fail to realize that increased skepticism is a major prophectical sign in Biblical prophocey. So....... doubt away!!!!!

That if there's an up for every down
a left for every right
an in for every out
a bad for every good
and a wicked person for every righteous one
Why would people think that if God has created a heaven for those the love Him and have faith in Him;why would He not create a Hell for those that deny him and refuse to believe in Him?

I mean does this make sense?Or is it just me?
