I lean toward the Gypsy Tradition since it's in my bloodline but as far as Pantheons go I'm pretty eclectic.

Blessed Be.

I have a couple of traditions:
Star Kindler and SoCal NROOGD
I also study the practice of shamanism.

I find it interesting that there are a lot of people throwing the word tradition around, got any idea what it means?

The word tradition comes from the Latin word traditio which means "to hand down" or "to hand over."

It's really hard to have a tradition if it wasn't handed down to you. I know a lot of you don't like to be told these kinds of things, but there it is.

If it's something you came up with on your own it's not a tradition, that's a practice

prac·tice (prkts)
v. prac·ticed, prac·tic·ing, prac·tic·es
v.tr.
1. To do or perform habitually or customarily; make a habit of: practices courtesy in social situations.
2. To do or perform (something) repeatedly in order to acquire or polish a skill

Believe me when I say, I'm not trying to make you feel less than, some of you are probably very dedicated to your practice.

Wicca is a tradition, it is something that is shown to you, taught to you. A book or a website can instruct, but it can not teach.

to decide you are Wiccan simply because you say you are is like saying you are a Rabbi without having been to Rabbinical school, or like saying you are a EMT without having been through the course.

There is a lot a person can learn on their own, there are a lot of things that can't.

Wicca is a priesthood, we are clergy, not just people who honor the God and Goddess, cast circles and revere nature. Being a priest isn't something you can just decide to be.

Eclectic solitary Wiccan.

I don't like people telling me I'm not Wiccan because of this or that. I believe in a God and Goddess, cast circles, do magick, and revere nature. That's Wicca, no matter what anyone else claims.

I'm not Wiccan - I'm a Witch. And proud of it.

I'm not an initiated member of any of the British Traditional Wicca traditions. I can honestly say that Wicca "informs" my practice, but that doesn't make me Wiccan.

I *am* an initiated member and a Priestess of non-BTW Traditions of the Craft. And I encorporate hedge-witchery into my practice, as I have for over 25 years.

I'm solitary as well. Like some of the others i don't necessarily describe myself as Wiccan anymore as some people were really getting upset if you weren't initiated in to a coven and follow their rules.

Eclectic solitary. I call myself "Pagan, with strong Wiccan influence" so I don't have to deal with the attitudes of those who think if you can't trace your initiatory lineage to Gardner then you're "not really Wiccan" (see your other question).

=)
