Christianity is based on faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. Jesus was the promised messiah and king prophesied about throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament is the explaination and revelation of His coming and that He will come again.

We put our faith in Jesus Christ that He died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead to cover our sins forever and that we might also overcome sin and death. God will forgive us for our sins and bring us into new life in Christ. We leave our old life of sin behind and walk on in newness of life in Christ.

John 14.6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except by me."

Romans 10.9-11 "9 If you use your mouth to say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. 10 We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed."

Is there anybody else out there that would be willing to forgive you , full and free, for all you have done wrong? Is there anybody else out there that can love you the way the Lord does?

God's love is the best!
He'll come into your life if you ask Him.

Hope that helps.

Jesus Loves You

You ask the one question most people ask. Why on earth Christianity... The truth is there is no way we can convince you... The only thing we can do is tell you about our experiences and what we believe... In reality you will have to experience it yourself.

I believe in Jesus simply because I can honestly say that I have a living relationship with Him. I also find Christianity a very solid religion and amazingly interesting. Just the reality that I will never be able to know everything keeps me intrigued (not sure if that is spelled correctly) Try it for yourself...

Be careful however. There are a few guys out there who say they are Christians but do not live the way... and those are usually the ones who make you not wanting to believe... Go for the real thing and discover Jesus more and more...

Logically, monotheism is weak. A single god cannot account for evil and needless suffering in the world (is your Christian god evil?) A polytheistic system is logically valid, as long as no one asserts that there is one omnipotent and wholly good god.

So, if you you ever take a logic course, have fun with the Christians on this one (the argument is called "The Problem of Evil", and it can't be overcome in terms of pure logic). If you're already a Christian, I guess you can either keep the blind faith, or you can actually look into the logic (as you are doing now) and come up with the one counter-argument that works, which is to say that Christianity actually is polytheistic (that Satan operates outside the control of god, which reduces god to non-omnipotent).

Oh my, volumes have been written on this very question.
A book called "A Case for Christ", was written by what started out as an atheist.
His logical side would not allow him to believe in the "Fairy Tale" of God. So he set out to be a mythbuster.
What he found was an incredibly accurate, in-fallible, un-shakeable book called the Bible.
Rationally....it is by far the only book on the face of earth that has never been successfully disputed.
All "religions" have been!

i imagine each and every faith makes some declare to revelation. So - all of them trust that god interacts/manifests, and has been witnessed first hand. i do not trust that "rational" is the right note for what you're asking. I see often cases in those forms of question that human beings confuse rational with logical, logical with provable, and all of those with "provable with the help of repeatable experimentation"

"Christianity"-- really true belief. tells us that Mankind cannot help himself, and needs a Savior. Virtually all other beliefs have man helping himself. (Actually "churchianity" is a pagan religion) Get back to Scripture, and the truths that the Almighty shared with mankind. His name is YHVH. the Savior's name is YHVH is my Savior, so His name is YAHOSHUA! He set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Work with Him and He will bless you,

There is no one of The True Christian Faith who can "prove" God to you...the proof is betweeen God and you...I know with absolute certainty that God exists and the The Salvation Message is The Only Way to come to God... I can tell you about it... I can give you my testimony...but I can not "prove it" to you... and I will not try... if you ask I will offer you what I know... the rest is up to God... If he wants you He will let you know.... maybe through me...if you ask... but it is all up to God to let you know... then it will be up to you to accept what he offers or not... God will not compel you to ome to him or to accept............. if you have a question concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith you may email me.

why must you have a commitment to religion and not just believe in God?

If you're looking for rational justification - religion is not for you.

The 'church' of atheism has its doors open though! ;-)
