Being in the Pagan sense
If so, then how do I make myself BELIEVE in them?
I have a hard time doing this.
I can't seem to shake the program that they are all made up anyway. =(

Christian Amanpour of C.N.N. had a documentary on Islam called "Enemy Within" which was based on radical Islam ( Wahabiism) and hate towards non-belivers. Most Muslims will agree that it is something that needs to be fought against.

Having said that, it seems Christianity has the same problem but on a different level. Homosexuality where it is growing at an alarming rate amongst church goers not to mention priests who prey on alter boys. What is the Christian religion going to do about it?

The bible condemns many things, from cutting the hair from ones temples or engaging in non-recreational activities on the Sabbath, to the practice of magics, be they angelic or demonic in nature. While the cutting of ones hair or working on the Sabbath are forbidden for sybolic reasons, magic is a power reserved for God and those granted the power by God, so is therefore forbbiden to all else. This is not the only power reserved for God and his chosen, but it is often a matter of controversy. As a firm believer in God, the Creator, and Jesus Christ, our savior, I have had many doubts about the outcome of my soul, as I am also a practitioner of necromancy(black magic). I have led a good life, I have been kind, loving, and generous, but I also practice a forbidden art. Those first to judge me have always been other Christians. When I try to explain to them that I have sinned no more than they have, they do not seem to understand. Judging and Magic are reserved for God. OUT-OF-CHARACTERS

I've pretty much always believed in God for no real reason. No one told me to & I've always shied away from church or overzealous religious people so no, I'm not brainwashed. Lately, I'm finding myself thinking what is the point in all this? I know life isn't fair, sin is man's fault, etc etc but, how can one who believes that God helps those who help themselves, reconcile the fact that seemingly good people get slammed in life and those who blatantly sin but, claim they're religious, seemingly get off scott free? If I even think about a sin, something horrific happens. I know hardships are a part of life but we all have our breaking point and I've crossed mine. I've tried the praying bit, the being a good girl bit and even the not questioning God's plan bit. I get nada each time.

My question is this, how does one who doesn't believe in God reconcile these feelings and let go of the looking to a higher power for help trip? What do you rely on to get you through hard times?

do u think that earth was created by god or do u think the big bang theory or evolution took place?
the second law of thermodynamics is entropy which states that all things are headed towards a greater state dissorder randomness and chaos right? well, if EVERYTHING is headed in that direction then how come all of earths resources have not been depleted yet? my argument is this, earth could not possibly be infinitely old because otherwise we would have already entered a state of entropy otherwise all food water and air supplies would have been depleted. also people who believe in the big bang theory, you all believe that the universe was surrounded by something called RELATIVE DARK MATTER right? you think that everything was nice and peachy until the RELATIVE DARK MATTER rubbed against each other creating a pop which resulted in our universe now tell me where this RELATIVE DARK MATTER came from. what's your opinion?

Fundies say that great flood was 4400 years ago. Bronxe age civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley existed during that time. We have able to decipher the writings of Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations. They have not recorded any such floods.
Their scriptures were written before Christian mythology was written. Since they were the first written records after man was banned from heaven how can one say that they are not true. They were written about 6000 years ago

I am very interested in Buddhism and eastern thought. I have tried meditation and don't feel it fits into my lifestyle(ie getting up before work/settling down before I go to sleep), at least in the way it was suggested to me.
