For one thing Judiasm is passed through the mother. So if a Jew doesn't marry a Jew, the religion may not get passed on. (and the kids are then considered outcasts in the Jewish community) (it happened to a friend of mine who's father is jewish but her mother isn't)
You really want to date/marry someone with the same faith. There is more of a chance of anything long term to last.

sure it is. If you don't want to marry outside of your religion, no matter what that religion is, it is more then OK to limit who you date. It is also true of any other criteria you set for yourself. It is your relationships so you should be with someone who makes you feel good to be with.
