Have you ever had an occurrence where your prayer came true? Or do you think prayer is just a way of stating actions that you need to take and then you get them done?

We al should know by now that Mary and joseph are from Egypt, and that he is a man of color. Jesus was not balck, but had African anscestry. And of course people will say it dosent matter what color he was, but yes it does, because why not tell the truth, obviously it did matter that much for them to make him in the image of whites.

Considering that ANY version of the Bible that we read today is a translation from the original language, why do some Christians maintain that the only correct version is the King James Version?

I know there are verses or info in there because my Uncle is a Christain and once we discussed this. During the conversation he mentioned a few verses that implied life on other planets.
(don't remember which one's they were in the Bible)
Any open minded Christians out there who can back this up?
thanks

In other words, did the authors of the books of the Bible simply write down what God told them with God correcting their fallible human mistakes or is what they wrote a reflection of God's influence on them. Should we take each word literally or take the spirit of what was intended?

I need some advice. I'm a Christian. My best friend is Gay, he's really a great person but he's also athiest. Do you think he's going to hell? I believe that in most cases (like my friend) if you'r gay you're born gay and therefore can't help being gay (just like I can't help being straight). I have a hard time believing that if you're a good person with good morals, who never herts anyone that God would send you to hell for just being gay, when as far as you're concerned you could not help being gay in the first place. I mean there are a lot more horible things you could be right?

What proof is there that these writings you believe in really tell the truth? How do we even know that they really exist?

I have never heard of these writings but I have heard of the bible. I can buy the bible in a store but I dont see these writings in stores. You say you only believe in what you can see. Well you can SEE the bible, touch it and read it. Where are these writings that you all rave about?

How many other Christians on here feel like I do? Just live & let live. Don't judge the atheists, the gay people, Muslims, Jews or anyone. If I had a congragation how many of you could abide by the rules that God loves all of mankind no matter who you sleep with or what religion you are or if you don't believe at all? Please don't quote the Bible if you don't agree. I just want to see how many true non judgemental Christians there are on here?

From all accounts of the Roman occupation of lands it was a pretty horific state of affairs. Feeding people to lions watching them kill each other in arenas, slavery etc etc.
