hello hello, i have a g.f, whos mother didnt belive in getting baptised, she didnt think pouring water on her babys head would make her a better person, and no one in her family was ever baptised. I do suppose they belive in God tho. But were my family is completely different, not in going to church everyday, but we say our dinner prays every nite and the lot. And my g.f, shes bin really mukd up, and her family kind of to. And i ask if people generally belive that getting baptised or having faith in a greater being helps them get though lifes issues or if it does absoultly no good for you?

I understand that nobody can look in the face of God and live. that's why I'm wondering how Abraham did it.

No atheist or evolutionist had ever said man evolved from monkeys. We only said that man and monkey had a common ancestor.
The only people whom I hear telling that man evolved from monkeys is Christian fanatics. They say that atheists are saying man evolved from monkeys when no atheist had said it. Why did they invent such a theory which goes against their beliefs?

I consider myself a Christian. I have accepted Jesus as my savior. I attend church, I try to help and love others. However, there are things in the Bible that I simply can't accept. I don't believe that the earth was created in 7 days, I don't have any hatred or disdain for gay people, and I don't feel that everything that is laid out in the book of Revelation will come to pass in the way that everyone else believes it will. I have been praying about all this and I don't have a clear answer. Is it wrong for me to feel this way and question?

Why do they say they are in heaven now when the bible says people go to heaven after the judgment day?

I have been told that I'm stupid because I don't realize that God is responsible for things that are going on in South Africa. Someone emailed me and said I am ignorant because I couldn't answer him about the holocaust. But I haven't learned anything about it yet. Then someone just answered one of my questions by saying that my mom should home school me so my stupid won't rub off on the other kids.

I am on the A B honor roll every grading period and I made the basketball team at school. I am certainly not stupid just because I don't know about some things yet. After I finish college I will know a lot more than I do now.

I bet a lot of you atheists didn't know about the things you are talking about when YOU were in the 7th grade. I know that you have to be old because no one my age ever talks about all those things that you are telling me about.

I am going to bed. You atheists have horrible attitudes. I hope God touches your hearts in some way.

My first day in middle school, the principal said "If, on locker check day we find Satanic symbols in your locker or anything supporting Satan, you will be suspended." I find a few things weird about that.

1. They never said "Alternatively, if you have anything about God or Jesus/ Allah/ Buddha/ Krishna in your locker, you will be suspended too."
2. Don't we have the right to express ourselves?
3. Why would something like that not be ok for a student to have? Like I said, they didn't mind anything else, just Satanism.
4. Aren't schools supposed to be about learning and not religion?
Do you think that's right?

Oh F.Y.I, I'm not Satanist, that just stuck in my head since then.

I'll tell you straight out I don't believe in this or god. Please think about this though. How will we know when or if Jesus returns, will he throw a party, and who would believe him. When someone says they're Jesus we automaticallly assume they're not. Is he going to float down on NYC through the clouds? When a homeless man says he's Jesus we all automatically asume he's not even though he could be Jesus. Jesus may have returned thousands of times without us knowing. I'm Jesus, do you think I'm lying?

I've read Imhotep was worshipped as a god & that his worshippers were still worshipping him at least as late as 500 BCE.
My questions are:
1) are there still woshippers today and,
2) where would I find meditations and prayers to Imhotep?

Did Jeuse really want you to eat his flesh and drink his blood?
Is this a metaphor or not?
If it is, couldn't the verse about him walking on water be a metaphor for him being a good swimer?
or
The verse about healing the blind be a metaphor for him cleaning some1 eyes?

How do you know what's a metaphor or not, if you just go based on what you clergy says then you can just believe everything you hear bc im pretty sure he wasn't there and he is only telling you what he heard, so how do you know it should be taken literaly or not?

They want to teach evolution to us next grading period. My mom has already talked to the principal with a group of moms from the churches. The school refuses to teach creation but they want to teach evolution so I am thinking that I should lead a walk-out. Everyone who believes that God made this world and everything in it should simply walk out when the teacher starts about evolution. No fuss, no noise.. Just walk out of the classroom and sit in the hall until it is over with.

Hi,

I'd like to know why the majority of Abrahamic religion followers deny their mysticism?

Seriously, a lot of Christians dislike Gnosticism, Jews and Kabbalah, and Muslims with Sufism.

Why?

I'm a non-Jewish male, however I am seeking to convert to Orthodox Judaism, a process quite unlike conversions to any other sect/religion, in the near-distant future.

I was born and to a certaint extent, raised a Catholic; however, over years of frustration and disbelief of Jesus and his escapades, I have become more and more hostile towards Christian fanaticism and their brand of religious supremacy. Seeing a cross and commuting to the synagogue, by which there is a few churches, I feel blessed to know that someday I will become a Jew -- which brings me to,

I have an intense craving to marry a Jewish woman and settle down to a heavily religious Jewish lifestyle. I fear, however, that her parents, grandparents will not accept me because of my nonexistent Jewish background. Furthermore, I believe that my line of ancestors may have come from Nazi sympathizers in Lithuania (this is only a hypothesis).

What should I do? Where do I start?
