No atheist or evolutionist had ever said man evolved from monkeys. We only said that man and monkey had a common ancestor.
The only people whom I hear telling that man evolved from monkeys is Christian fanatics. They say that atheists are saying man evolved from monkeys when no atheist had said it. Why did they invent such a theory which goes against their beliefs?

It seems mind-boggling that they do not seem to grasp the point or understand the difference. However, the explanation, I think, is really simple.

Contrary to the statements of most creationists who claim to have examined the evidence and informed themselves on the scientific merits of the theory of evolution, the truth is that they just keep repeating the same talking-points (lies) with no more thought involved than that of a parrot who mimics sounds they hear.

They do not ‘think’ (analyze, examine, etc) about it at all, and I am not sure they even know what ‘thinking’ is – or that it represents an activity they have ever experienced. The only explanation seems to be that they understand ‘thinking’ to be the same thing as ‘believing’ what they are told to believe.

Their ‘not evolved from monkeys’ misunderstanding is constantly explained to them. It would seem that they do not bother even to read anything that does not fully endorse their uneducated opinion. That seems to be the only explanation – unless they all really are mentally retarded.

Creationists (Christian creationists) do indeed repeat this endlessly. In fact, they use it in contexts and in such a way that it suggests they really think this is the mainstream scientific description of the course of human evolution.

And while it is true that atheists need not accept the scientific principle of evolution, there are no other empirically and scientifically legitimate alternative hypotheses. (Creationism and ID, also, are not valid scientific hypotheses – but the supporters of those notions are uninterested in truth or evidence-based knowledge).

Then if we share a common ancestor then we're did our ancestors evolved from ? Hmmmmm? How dose that make any sense? And why so logic and not reasonable I'm sure are ancestors evolved from monkey like mamals didn't you ever watch the evolution of man from natgeo. we were basically monkeys rominng the ground then became bipedal ate meat became intelligent used tools so your telling me that under the right circumstances I can't cause another species to evolve to become bipedal grow more intelligent or even genetically alter thier race with human DNA to become like us. that's rediculus and close minded I believe we are human to do just that. but then again the human race is selfish and only idol a stupid God or w/e but long ago man came up with this stupid mentality that nature is agains us but like humans always.what we think is against us is actually what were against humans are the real God's!!!!!! If God gave us intelligence why not animals maybe the world would be better off

I dunno, its really annoying when anyone says that though. It's like people only know what they know about Evolution from hearsay instead of research.

If you seriously ask "If Humans came from monkeys, why do we still have monkeys?", you will be laughed at. DO NOT ask blindly ignorant questions like that, do some freakin' research...

The average person doesn't know the difference between the theory of Evolution, the theory of Abiogenesis, or the Big Bang theory, people think all 3 are summed up into the word "Evolution" and that Atheists and Evolutionists automatically they're true and think they're true on faith.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFO? CHRISTIANS BELIEVE IN CREATION...THAT'S WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES.

"...(Charles Robert) Darwin was the British naturalist who became famous for his theories of evolution and natural selection. Like several scientists before him, Darwin believed all the life on earth evolved (developed gradually) over millions of years from a few common ancestors...

...Darwin's work had a tremendous impact on religious thought. Many people strongly opposed the idea of evolution because it conflicted with their religious convictions."

Christians didn't invent any such rumor or lie. You don't know enough about Atheism to know what you're talking about if you believe such. Wether or not you are an Atheist does not mean you are knowledgeable on the subject. Generally people like you who spout such things, are stating someone else's lie, or haven't read enough about the subject to know the truth. Atheists do believe evolution. Christians didn't invent any of this and for you to say so is a lie.

Most atheists do believe evolution, but they need not. Atheists don't believe in any gods - this does not demand acceptance of evolutionary theory, but it usually works out that way in my experience. And it is more correct to say that they "believe" evolution rather than "believe in" evolution.

The phrase "believe in" sounds like a statement of faith. You don't "believe in" the idea that the Earth is round, you simply believe it. You don't "believe in" the law of gravity, you believe it. On the other hand, people do "believe in" the Bible or "believe in" the power of prayer. Scientists don't "believe in" evolution, they accept that it occurs.

Perhaps they misunderstood. And perhaps some athiest or evolutionist told them that. I don't think the Christians agree that the theory is true though. Faith, then logic, evidence (and God), has told me the bible is true. Faith, logic, "evidence", and mere people, say evolution is true.

One may suppose that they did not really understand the theory of evolution (now a proven fact). There are some subtleties that require thought to deal with.

Because they skim over the semantics to make their argument more valid.

That's an oxy-moron if ever I've heard one. If your a Christian you know evolution is crap, Christians follow the Bible and in the Bible it says God made the world and the people in it.
