Just because some self-proclaimed atheists are ***** doens't mean we all are. I'm an atheist myself, and I lament the fact that common courtesy and manners have fallen by the wayside.
Ironically, they're the ones who're stupid. There's a difference between not knowing something due to ignorance (which can be rectified through learning, which you're in the process of) and stupidity (which is, as far as I've seen, pretty much incurable).
So, don't worry about what tiny-brained folks like that say. And keep in mind that atheists are a group of people like any other: some are pricks, and some are nice.

I suggest you re-read your question. Maybe you'll see it for what it is... the pot blaiming the kettle. You don't have a particularly good attitude yourself and you are making sweeping generalizations about all atheists based on the actions of a few. You are being disrespectful yourself.
You are not stupid, but you are ignorant about many things (which is natural for a kid your age) and probably don't even realize it and you seem to prefer holding on to the ignorance and only listen to what you want to hear, rather than listen to everything and think about things from all sides. Everyone is ignorant about some things (especially at your age), but there is a difference between plain ignorance and WILLFUL ignorance. People tend to look down on the latter.
Take my advice: never stop searching for the truth. Nobody ever knows everything about everything, but as we go through life we learn a lot and the more open your mind is, the more you will learn. Don't walk away from knowledge, you can use all knowledge one way or another whether you agree with it or not. Never fool yourself into thinking you know everything.

I beleive sofa king said it best You ask questions that show your not educated in this topic you are speaking about yet claim you know all the answers, just because you are so Christian doesnt make you smarter, more educated or a better person than anyone else, If I was a Christian Id pray you get the will to learn about the world and realize you arent even close to knowing what will know in lets say 15 20 years. And someday youll either be educated and searching for truth or calling the people who are searching for truth in scientific and factual manner meanies. By the way I was a born again Christian who was very close to the Lord I thought for 20 years, and when I hit 30 my mind was racing I wanted to explore the world the heavens the fact and came to my atheistic conclusion on my own, just realize if your parents wre Jewish, muslim catholic or siek the probability you would be that today would be extremely high. Have you ever seen the Matrix remember when Morpeus said,"youve got to free your mind" its kinda like that.

Oh look, it's me when I used believed in God. I used to do what you do, no one your age talks about it, you're the only one who seems to care, I wasn't an honor student though lol. You're mistaken in one thing (which I'm failry certain you believe), just because I don't believe in God, doesn't mean I don't believe in an afterlife, all any religion really is is way to make your soul purer and your heart less tainted, they add God and Satan to make it easier for people to do what's right. You'll just kinda look "over" this answer though, kinda not see it's there because you know it's true. I've quit trying to please God and started to work on trying to please my soul and not hurting it too bad. Think of the soul like an abused child that's hesitant to approach because it's afraid of being hurt again. There are many reasons for each religion to be right, each one has it's own thing.
One reason I stopped believing in God is when I read that if I practiced witchcraft, God was going to punish my descendants to the fourth generation. Another would be the insane number of things in the Bible that contradict themselves. A third would be Jesus telling his disciples before returning to Heaven that “There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.” "Matthew 16:28.
Yeah. All those people are DEAD.
But you know what? Even if all those things are right, it still doesn't matter, I have one concrete reason for not believing in God that I won't tell you because some people need religion to get through life and be better people and all that stuff I said will (hopefully) just reaffirm your faith. However, if you do what I've done and do it the RIGHT way, you'll no longer be able to believe in God. Let's just say that there are... reasons the Bible says not to practice witchcraft, auras, third eyes, paranormal. Now take your pick which one of those I'm talking about.

Good point, one should not mock the ignorance of youth, we all were that way once ( and many remaine so.)
Keep in mind when you ask quesitons however, that you do have that ignorance. I believe that most questions, asked respectfully will get mostly respectful and helpful answers ( except from those trolls who love to hear themselves talk.)
Considering evolution for example, if you know nothing about it fell free to ask questions but don't make assertions. If you don't know anything about it, you can't support your assertions and are liable to be attacked on it. ( I use the example of evolution becuase most of the questions I see posted here about it declare their ignorance in the quesion itself.) You shouldn't shy away from learnign something becuase it does not agree with your faith, it would be a weak faith that can't stand to even know the arguments against it.
Don't react in a knee jerk way if someone asks you a question about your religion that you don't know the answer to. A simple, " haven't figured that one out yet" goes alot farthur in getting you a respectfull hearing than something defensive. Nothing makes a christian look worse than to ask things like "why are there still monkeys" or "what about the second law of thermodynamics." These quesions don't refute evolution but show that the asker knows nothing about either evolution or thermodyramics.
Practice humility in knowing the limits of what you now know, but as you have said, you will know more as you age. Keep in mind that what you believe now about your religion will change with knowledge, age, and experience. That doens't mean you will reject it, but you will come to a fuller understanding of the world and will integrate that into your beliefs. The adult you will become needs all the information that the youth you are now can arm him with. Learn everything.
Ignore those people who try to bring you down. Good luck.

If you are a christian you had better toughen up, cause if the worst that happens in your life, is to get insulted, you will be lucky! You really have to be careful generalizing people as people will start to view your post negatively. People insinuate that you are stupid because you blindly follow the bible. Which they shouldn't do with you because you are young, and cannot help that you are being brainwashed into believing something that isn't true. Hopefully when you get older and you are more able to think for yourself you will be able to see the inaccuracies and contradictions in the bible and also come to the conclusion that Christianity is a false religion, like the rest. You can have an a -b
grade level in school and while that makes you intelligent, it proves nothing of your degree of wisdom. Intelligence is the ability to learn, while wisdom is the ability to take that learning and put it to use in everyday life. If you lack either one, in great amounts, you can be considered stupid.

First of all, I would like to set a few things straight for all of you atheists out there. This kid was going to walk out of science class to prove a point. Point being that it was important to show both sides to an issue.
While I commend you for speaking your mind, I think unfortunately this forum is not the correct one for a 7th grader. While I believe kids should know the real world, I do believe there are things which take a certain maturity to see and hear. I suggest you use safe outlets to learn about religion or other social topics such as at school and church which are set up to be a safe environment (In most cases) or with your family and friends. When you are old enough to not only be concrete in your decisions but be able to explain them, then come back and you will find this to be a much more rewarding forum for your intellectual growth. May Christ lead you and comfort you. I will pray for you.

When you ask a question you have to assume that some people are going to give answers that you don't necessarily agree with. That's not mean, just difference of opinion and something to learn to be accepting of. I have never come across an Atheist on this thread that has wished for a Christian to die but I have read many messages from Christians where they have stated that they hope Atheists burn for all eternity in Hell, simply for not having the same opinion!
Many Atheists are cynical when it comes to Christians because many Christians are such a contradiction. They preach love and acceptance but when someone doesn't agree with them, they damn them to Hell!

i'll try and answer your question because I was just like you at that age . Even if you are called less than all knowing you will not shake the influences beyond your control if at all for many many years to come so take it easy they are not as mean as they sometimes seem but over zealous because they believe in a cause they can't fully encompass just like other ordinary people . keep studying and growing this is your strength of intellect and knowledge is the guide of heart and character for many . I don't hold illusions of fantasy in an imaginary god touching my heart but you have touched my heart nonetheless. so good luck to you and peace out
