We are getting fed up with him & I believe he will lose the position of Imam very soon as Australian muslims are freaking out about what he said & can vote someone else in to the position. He returns in 1 weeks time.
He basically fuelled a riot at a popular Sydney beach last year.
He said that an Aust. girl that was gangraped by Lebanese Muslim boys asked for it & they were punished too harshly for their crime. (55yr sentence) haha
The next pearler was that Australian women dress like pieces of meat in a market.
His latest wisdom is that all Aussies are liars & Muslims have more rights to be here coz they bought a ticket & didn't come as convicts.
What has he done here so far for the good of the wider community? Not much as far as I can tell except piss peolpe off.
I feel empathy for the Muslims that have come here from war torn countries where their lives were in danger to a place where they feel safe, can get an education & free money from the Federal Govt.

I think he will shortly be removed by the group of Imams that is meeting soon (they're mostly on holidays folowing the Hajj at the moment). The moral support he has given to a certain gang rapist is a bit much and comparing women not wearing the veil to uncovered pieces meat that should expect to be raped (excuse the mixing of the metaphors - he did it first) is a bit much.
Having said that, that is a matter for Muslims to decide. Really, some Australians are being thin skinned about this. When he talked disparagingly about Australia and our convict past on Egyptian TV I just thought he wasn't being very spiritual and that's about it. Let him say what he likes.

Why should a Muslim racist be kicked out any more than a white Aussie racist? Racists are scum whatever their creed and colour. I'd leave it up to a high council of aboriginal Australians to decide. They have more f'n right than some of the Bruce Brigade. Though, I take your point, and I'm not necessarily completely disagreeing with you personally. You don't sound like a racist to me and I hope you will at least consider my point.
Yeh, the pieces of meat thing. There are unfortunately some individuals who arrogantly speak for Islam without actually being invited to, and the first thing that the tend to do is have a pop at non-Muslim women to wind people up. I think you have a right to be furious at morons like that, who pervert a religion which has much better role models. Islam is not all about treating people like crap, unfortunately some Muslims truly want it to be. They are an infinitesimal minority.

It's interesting how many people feel this man should be deported, dismembered, excommunicated.
Yet when BNP members in UK make similar hate filled speeches, it's their right to express their opinion and their freedom of speech is sacrosanct.
Let us hope that Australia's Islamic authorities remove this man from his position and that his bile goes unheard in the future. As for removing him, if he's an Australian citizen he's your problem - no one else will want him, any more than they want some of your Australian (or our British!) white supremicist bigots.

It is not possible to just dump someone somewhere else in the world even after stripping them of citizenship. No one else would want him and the Islamic countries would win a big propoganda bounty even if he could be dumped elsewhere. If he were imprisoned for incitement then many countries could call australia barbaric. Islamic countries hold most of the worlds oil supplies too so people like him can get away with their speeches.

well no one is perfect so if he said such things then maybe he should not be a leader...........however it might have been taken out of context or lost of translation like you said.........so before people jump to say that he is not fit to be a leader try finding out exactly what happened.

I'm not sure what protections religious leaders get Down Under, but in the States they have lots of free speech and free religion rights. Hec, we have Christians encouraging violence against homosexuals on TV and the FCC won't even question their operating license.

Speaking as a muslim woman, they need to be kicked out when they start going against the teachings of the Quran. Islam says when in foreign lands you are to live by the law of the land so long as it doesn't interfere with religious duties. No country does this as far as I know except where the islamic dress is banned, so he is no exception.
