it is mentioned in exodus 22:16 and the thing is there is no sin sacrifice mentioned and some people view this as that there is no punishment mentioned too usually in the old testament if you sin you either did a sacrifice or pay a penalty such as a fine, or whipped on the back or in worst case the death penalty such as adultery...so this is really a grey area, but in exodus 22:16 both the man and the women were consensual on having sex before marriage and no rape was committed - an example of rape is in deut 22:28 and this is definitely a sin because the man had to pay a fine......now alot of christians say that Jesus changed all of this and in Matt 5:28 when jesus said "if you lust after a women you have committed adultery in your heart".....jesus mentioned adultery..adultery is cheating on you wife, and fornication and premarital sex are not the same thing..in the old testament if you committed fornication it was the death penality.....if you look at the context in how jesus is speaking - he is mostly speaking to married people...today most people interpret that passage with today culture with many people being single....not many people were singles after the age of 14 (see 1 cor 7:36 in the KJV)...is premarital sex opposed? i cant tell you that you have to seek god on this (1 john 2:27)...the bible doesnt tell us everything..but the bible does tell us that marriage is supposed to be a remedy so we can have a sexual union with our wife with godly love and it would be good for it to happen at the time of puberty as 1 cor 7:36 explains in the KJV....but today it a total different story, but back then it was not like that.....makes you wonder do people really folllow ALL! of the bible teachings? i wrote an article on this and this is why i think that churches are a serious joke to me below is the link if you want to read more on this.....http://www.biblecodeendtime.com/MySharedFiles/new-page-on-fornication-dec-14-2006.htm

Fornication and adultery are both opposed.

Adultery is defined by dictionary.com as "voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse", and fornication is defined as "voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other", so that includes pre-marital sex.

1 Corinthians 7:1 Now for the mattersyou wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.
7:2 But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.
7:8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: Itis good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.
7:9But if they cannot control themselves, they they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

GOD BLESS YOU!
