I need some advice. I'm a Christian. My best friend is Gay, he's really a great person but he's also athiest. Do you think he's going to hell? I believe that in most cases (like my friend) if you'r gay you're born gay and therefore can't help being gay (just like I can't help being straight). I have a hard time believing that if you're a good person with good morals, who never herts anyone that God would send you to hell for just being gay, when as far as you're concerned you could not help being gay in the first place. I mean there are a lot more horible things you could be right?

If your God thinks because hes gay and deserves to burn in fiery pain and tormenting agony and suffering for eternity..thats forever and ever and ever than yes he will go to hell, pretty scary isnt it. Im an atheist and beleive that gay mostly isnt a fricken choice he just is gay, and if theres a god (in which theres not )why did he make him that way. Let your friend live the only life that we have on earth and dont try to scare him with your dogma, your not going to CONVERT him straight only lose a friend.

There's a lot of sins. Some of them are major, like coveting your neighbor's property (ironically, not given much attention or stigma). Some are not so much, like violating cleanliness rules. Whatever the magnitude of the sin, sin is sin, and whatever you do that you're ashamed of is just as destructive, in cosmic terms, as being gay or murdering someone.
There is no such thing as a person with good enough morals that they've earned immunity from hell. That's why Jesus had to die; we can't be perfect, so we all flunked God's law, and without the gift of salvation, we'd all be bound for hell.
Being gay does not make a lick of difference in your friend's eternal future. Being an atheist does.
I can see why he'd deny the Christian churches, since they ostracize him, usually without looking inward at what plagues their own members. Forget all the rhetoric about gay people being a threat to the Christian faith, and remember what Jesus taught. Read Romans and the Gospels.

I don't believe that anyone will go to hell just for being gay...If you're a good person, etc. I don't see why you'd be denied going to heaven after death. I mean if people are gonna be penalized for that then that brings bigger questions....like, okay, you're christian (lets assume Christianity is the ONLY religion that is correct and you ONLY get into heaven if you pick the correct religion...not saying that it is but just for an example) what happens to all of those who are not christian, or are other branches of Christianity but with some major differences...that would mean most of the world, except a tiny percentage, is going to hell.

If you are a Christian you must believe in absolute truth. If God says having sexual relations with someone of the same sex is a sin, than it must be a sin.

The problem with your question is you are assuming it is up to us to judge one way or another. Seeing as how Christ is not here to ask, we must rely on what he did say. He did tell us not to judge others or else we will be judged and he told us the two most important things was to love God with your whole heart and to love one another.

If you have a friend who is gay, I would suggest you worry less about him being gay and more about his faith. Teach him that he is loved as a sinner. His sins like the rest of us are forgiven by grace. If he can see the truth and become a believer, nothing else matters.

Friend, first of all you say you are a Christian, & yet you have a gay athests as a friend, & you are trying to protect him by saying he has good morals, Being gay is NOT good morals, & Gays & Lesbians, are not born that way, Read 1st. Cor. 6:11 & 2nd Timothy 3:1-7 That proves that they are not born that way, but it is a demonic spirit that gets on them, & you are entertaining that spirit also by accepting their lifestyles. It is time people stop playing around with scriptures & see the correct understanding of the bible. I have more bible if you need it.

Being gay is a choice. We aren't saved by good works on the other note. We must be born again of the spirit of God so that we can say that we know that we are forgiven, because we have believed as he said we must. That doesn't mean that we won't be attacked by doubt and fear and everything else the devil can throw against us, if he can, but by rejecting God and forgiveness through the sacrifice that Jesus made for us we are saying that we don't need him and he won't force us, against our will.

I might ask why you would come here for Christian advise on this subject when you know what people are going to tell you. I suggest that you listen to the young lady in the pink hat above me (Jabbergirl) with the gay friend who died. God loves everyone.

There is no verse that says Gay people go to Hell.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."

He will not go to hell if he is a believer, but he will live in discipline if he is not following the will of God, in such areas as internal strife, social persecution, and possible health hazards.

He will destroy his own body, but will not lose his soul, if Christ is his savior.
as a man you can fail, all sin and fall short.
As a savior, Christ cannot fail, He is God revealed in Human flesh.

I am a devout Christian. I also (had) a good friend who was gay. I remember him asking me if he thought that he would not get eternal life because he was gay. I answered him in this way: God is truly loving, kind, compassionate. He knows all, sees all. He knows each person's heart and he is completely FAIR. The bible teaches sternly that we are not to judge each other and that includes gays. The bible says this because we don't know all and we aren't all wise like God is. --A short time after my friend asked me this, we found out he had HIV. He got sick and got multiple infections and rapidly went downhill. It broke my heart when he passed away. He did tell me before he died that he had made his peace with God and I also spend much prayer with God before he died asking for understanding for him and me. I believe I will see him one day in Glory.
God is good -- trust in His goodness.

Your friend is fine. He is not going to hell. There is no hell. Do some research, get some answers to your religious questions. Don't just believe what you read in one simple book. Of course you have a hard time believing that if you are a good person,etc...Pretty ludicrous isn't it? Kinda like an invisible man? Or water to wine? Use logic... None of this is real. Remember when you realized Santa Claus wasn't real? You kinda knew it the whole time, but were a little disappointed when it all came down. This is the same thing.
