God loves us because we are his children.

God loves all His creation and so ofcourse He loves you. But in order to attain His love for the rest of your life, you need to follow the path that leads to God, and by not going astray.
Should you start going down the wrong path which we as humans so often do, God will try to bring you back either by punishment, or by appealing to your conscience or some other Divine way. After all, He loves you and will try to bring you back to Him.
He is the most Gracious, the most Merciful and He gives freely so take advantage of His love and mercy.

He loves you but not your sin. Just like a mother who loves her baby and she doesn't like the babies dirty diaper. Sin is like the dirty diaper. I am using the dirty diaper example metaphorically.
