This article points out that Bush appointees refuse to allow Grand Canyon park employees to state the geologic age of the Grand Canyon. Instead, there is a new book out that claims that the Grand Canyon was made by Noah's flood. What's the truth?

Are you going to heaven for something you've done? Or is it a choice you made believe in the seemingly impossible? I say seemingly impossible because not everyone can reason that a God you cannot see came down in the form of a man, died on the cross, rose again, and opened up heaven for us.. And if you do believe this, then why can't we believe Him for the other things he tells us?

1. of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings.
2. of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
-The Mormon faith claims to follow the teachings of Christ, just like every other "christian" church. Doesn't that make them Christian?-

For now, I will follow Brother William of Ockham's lex parsimoniae teaching and say that I see no need for a god but I am open to other opinions. I don't ask for much. Thomas - one of the twelve who had followed Jesus, lived with him, heard him preach, saw his miracles, and even received the first communion directly from him - Thomas did not believe until he was allowed to touch the wounds of the risen Jesus.

If Thomas is in heaven, then I have to assume I'm going to get my chance to see proof before I'm condemned. As soon as I see the proof, I'll change my mind. It doesn't have to be the actual stigmata, I'll make do with a burning bush.

If I'm wrong, why? If Thomas was allowed wait for proof, why not me (and you, and all of us)? Why save him, one of the twelve people who should have had faith, despite his lack of faith and condemn me?

Is there evidence that the events described in the story actually occurred? And would there have been reasons for inventing such a man as Joseph had he not existed?

I've been following an eclectic path between chritianity, unitarianism and earth based spirituality for some time now. Every once in a while my guides bring me a new philisophical idea to ponder. Right now it's the Messiah. I've been reading a variety of stories and they all sound simmilar to me. A time of great suffering (already here as far as I'm concerened) a time of prophets and false prophets and then a great savior wiping out the devil and everyone celebrating. So, do they all seem similar to you? Do you believe they are true prophacy and will happen (or already are)?

I have asked many different Christians for an explanation of the Trinity, including teachers, fathers, and brothers. I have only received answers that further confuse me.

In both rhetoric and science, writers clarify difficult concepts by rewording them in a version of English known as E-Prime. E-Prime bases itself on the same rules as English with one additional rule that abolishes all forms of the verb 'to be'. (The forms of "to be" that E-Prime excludes include the words: "is," "are," "were," "was," "am," "be," "been," and their contractions.) This concept should remind everyone of their high-school English classes and research papers.

So, can someone explain the concept of the Trinity to me using E-Prime (excluding 'to be' verbs)?

I am a big fan of belly dancing. I think that it is a very beautiful dance, when done correctly. I don't like dirty dancing.
But a lot of people think that it is something bad. Is it wrong to belly dance if I am Christian?
