There are so many ministries that you can join to help people for God. Pray to him and ask what you should do. (Well, obviously you asked this site, but God has the best answers). You can help the poor, the hungry. If you want, you can even be a missionary, spreading the word of God to the Nations! The most important way that you can help someone for God is to tell them about God.

The best way to serve God is to be a good person. Do onto others as you would have done to you.
Random acts of kindness- brightening someones day causes a chain reaction. Acts of Godliness do not have to be declarations of faith, but simply a manifestation of Gods will.

Service to the Community. Help the poor. Volunteer to help children. Visit a nursing home for the aged. Drop by the hospital and be compassionate. There are so many ways.

Live your life as one who is living in Christ. Be an example of God's love, and be in tune with God's will and purpose for your life. People will be able to see that there is something and unique about you and will want to know what it is and where it comes from. If they ask, tell them.

Read, study, and dedicate your life to GOD. Become a Christian then teach others about HIM. This would bring joy to yourself and others as they are able to see the possibility of being in Heaven with HIM! Have a great evening.

what makes feel close to god if i volunteer in an aids hospices or sick children with special needs and older people take a book to an elderly home and read to them take them on walks and i promise you there is no feeling like it
