"God, please save me!!"

I'd be telling the others to try to remain calm and not to distract the flight attendents, and especially not the pilots. You didn't say where the plane was, only that the engines failed. There could still be a chance of landing. It isn't over until it's over.

Oh, I get it. You think that atheists will suddenly recant when faced with death. What is your God, the default? I think not. There are plenty of atheists in foxholes, and they don't stop being atheists when the threat of death presents itself. That is because, unlike those who believe in the afterlife, they have already accepted death as a part of life. They don't have that need to believe in eternal life.

Other than that, when you are facing death, you don't think about or say anything. Adrenaline and ketamine take over, and the brain does not function normally.

The same as the believers "Oh **** I'm going to die". Least we can accept that it was random and there's nothing to follow.

or we'd just get high on the gas and air that is provided for such circumstances and like you, float into oblivion as content as Hindu cows.

If the plane is going to crash, I would probably hold the hand of the person next to me, to give comfort and be comforted, and I would be hoping I had told my loved ones how much I loved them often enough.

The whole "no atheists in foxholes" (or in this case, falling airplanes) is a load of hooey.

If you are implying that Atheists will suddenly convert and start talking to "god" you are wrong. We will scream and freak out like any other human being would.

It won't matter. They've got the same chance of going to heaven as any other person in the world. We're all God's children, and I'm sure only he knows what's really in your heart.

Whatever they say, they end result will be the same as all the theists - they'll be dead. Unless, of course, you have some statistically valid evidence that contradicts me.
