I know that the reformation was all about "justification by faith" and the Orthodox are on the grace side. But what does all of that mean? Do you have any opinions on which one is more theologically sound?

I for one use the KJV although it's hard for me to read it (I'm not good with ye, thou, and so forth.) i LOVE the recovery version NT because of the great footnotes and it's so easy to read. you can get one free here online like i did. no shipping cost either lol.

anyways and lastly i like the jerusalem Bible (I'm catholic.) i love 2 maccabees. it's a great and accurate Bible.

i refuse to use the NIV because it says in one verse that homosexuals won't seek the kingdom of heaven but that verse really doesn't say that in greek at all. so i refuse to read NIV. but hey, maybe that's just a small error and maybe it is good lol.

as a catholic i use my catholic bible a lot. but i do love my recovery version.. it's awesome.

so what about you?

when me and my husband are attending the Kingdom Hall he acts like he is so in love with me and then we leave he hardly has anything to say. Is he just trying to prove something to the people in the congregation?

According to the Bible?

How loud would they have to scream?

Loud enough for the guy in the cell next door to know about it?
Loud enough for the whole floor to know about it?
Loud enough for the guards to know about it?

So unless he's being teased about it and having other people planning to get him too is he a homosexual sinner?

Some people believe that God sends rebellious souls to hell to burn for all eternity in the unquenchable fires.

If you believe this than how can you justify having children. Everytime you reproduce you are taking the risk of there being one more person to be tortured for all eternity. You can never gaurantee that a person will always choose good or obey your God, so how can such a risk be morally justified?

I don't know if this is a mainstream belief. If you don't believe this, I'm not badgering you.

It makes alot more sense to me if it is the person choosing a specific hell for his or her self and than having such a God use this hell to teach the person a lesson.

Does it really affect you, atheists? If you really believe what you say you do, according to what I know about it, you have no reason to care what other people believe about religion! If it doesn't hurt you, and it doesn't hurt those who do practice religion, why do you spend so much time trying to convert everyone else to atheism?

I understand if you're trying to "convert" someone/people who actually IS/ARE a personal threat to you, but why do you bother coming on Y/A R&S and debating?

Don't say it's because religious people are annoying. That's not a thoughtful answer.

Just because there were photos that were not governed? It still makes this execution just, if not long over due.

I mean no one ever claims God said audible words to them. No one has ever prayed for something so miraculous that it could only be explained that God did it, and then have it happen. Isn't what you have a one-sided relationship with a man written book? I mean, feel free to prove me wrong, link me to YouTube where God is speaking to someone, or answering a prayer, I mean everything else is on there, if there's 2 billion people with a "personal relationship" with God, someone must have videotaped them and God interacting.

P.S. Yes, i might be a jerk, but I also have this dang logic holding me back.

Following on from a question asked earlier, do creationists realise that if humans were in fact designed that the designer did a pretty bad job?

The eye is wired the wrong way round, the human pelvis is too narrow for safe childbirth, the back is an engineering nightmare and so on. Surely someone with a few billion years, or is it eternity, could have done a better job, hell we can do a better job for quite a bit of it.

When I say people I don't mean all people I mean some people are Christians without thinking. (From what I can tell the majority)

Why do Christians think that a simple re-reading of the Bible, a chat with a priest/pastor/minister or praying will suddenly make atheists see what is supposedly written between the lines in invisible ink and may not actually be written there at all?
