Following on from a question asked earlier, do creationists realise that if humans were in fact designed that the designer did a pretty bad job?

The eye is wired the wrong way round, the human pelvis is too narrow for safe childbirth, the back is an engineering nightmare and so on. Surely someone with a few billion years, or is it eternity, could have done a better job, hell we can do a better job for quite a bit of it.

Childbirth is or at least was the most dangerous thing a woman can do, not beyond the wit of an INTELLIGENT designer to make it safe. And yes we can see thanks to the evolution of the eye but the way it and others are jury-rigged is obviouly because there was no designer, just evolution.

Don't forget that we breathe from the same tube that we ingest semi-solid materials as food making choking a hazard of our condition. An "intelligent" designer would not make the oxygen intake hose the same hose as the energy source. Engineering 101.

Heh ... funny though that even though the eye SEEMS to be wrong it can see and people have been having safe childbirth since day one and the back might be an engineering nightmare to man because man could never have come up with it. All these things never could have happened without a designer, if the pelvis was really too narrow for safe childbirth there wouldnt have been a population. Even though scientifically these things defy what we know... they happened anyway. Pretty darn impressive I think.

Now sometimes these things go wrong, but not always and not by and large. There is a Designer, and there is also a corruptor who people tend to forget about more often than they do God.

The human pelvis is not too narrow for safe childbirth. Humans have born children for thousands of years. However I would have believed you if you said the human pelvis was not safe for Elvis.

Any designer that would barely vary the design between a pig and a human wouldn't be intelligent.

"the human pelvis is too narrow for safe childbirth"

That one's explained in genesis, i'm too lazy to look it up, but it comes down to god being pissed and making child birth painful.

But I get where you're going, just thought i'd beat the christians on that one.

My eyes work fine:childbirth being the way it is, is a result of the transgression committed in the garden of Eden. And the back is an engineering MARVEL. Just because people are to ignorant to understand the handy work of GOD doesn't make it a nightmare. And what marvel have designed lately. The wisdom of this world is foolishness.

There's no "designer" other than the causes and conditions which are beyond anything remotely "orderly". Chaos theory, impermanence, causes and conditions... no "creator god" therefore no creator god telling Pat Robertson a darn thing except HIS own deluded ego too.

Incompetent Design is more like it.

Watch this video for a more detailed look at how the universe is most certainly NOT designed for us and how, if we WERE designed, we were most certainly NOT put together in a perfect and brilliant manner: http://youtube.com/watch?v=61hfTFZ9ST8

You forgot the organs that no longer have any use.
