I mean no one ever claims God said audible words to them. No one has ever prayed for something so miraculous that it could only be explained that God did it, and then have it happen. Isn't what you have a one-sided relationship with a man written book? I mean, feel free to prove me wrong, link me to YouTube where God is speaking to someone, or answering a prayer, I mean everything else is on there, if there's 2 billion people with a "personal relationship" with God, someone must have videotaped them and God interacting.

P.S. Yes, i might be a jerk, but I also have this dang logic holding me back.

I don't believe you can but that is my own personal belief. It all comes down to what you have faith in. A person who believes in God is going to have faith that God is watching out for them and trying to communicate with them in some way. Also, a person with faith in these things is not going to take a lack of noticeable communication to be a sign that there is no god, but will often believe that the absence of a message is THE message for them.

Well, He may not let others hear Him when He speaks audibly to someone. Each person hears God's voice in the way that God knows they would recognize His voice. Some people hear Him like a whisper. Others hear a clear voice. Just because you don't hear it doesn't make it not true. What God says and how He says it is His business. Why don't you ask Him why and maybe He will tell you Himself. If two billion people having a close relationship with God are claiming to know and hear His voice in all countries, from all walks of life, from all classes of societies, rich and poor, black and white, then something must be going on that you don't have a clue about.

You may have logic but you don't have the whole picture.

Many are lacking or rejecting information which makes their logic faulty and the premise false. Herein lies the paradox.

God declares that the nature of human beings is sinful. Sin is basically the principle of selfishness.

Is it logical to expect a selfish heart to want to comprehend and love a God of love ?

If God says the problem is with the selfish heart, will the selfish heart accept that statement ?

God responds to all human beings but not necessarily in a way that is flattering or appealing to the pride of the human heart.

If you are up to it and really sincere, here is a challenge:

Cry out to God and ask Him for new motives, new desires and new purposes and see what happens.

Show N Tell

I would not consider my relationship with god one-sided. Before Jesus died he said I will not you as orphans i will send my comforter to you. What he was talking about was the outpouring of the Holy Ghost that happened on the day of Pentecost. In Acts it shows that when this happened people were hearing from God through his Spirit. Pray for the Holy Ghost and you will have a true relationship with God. I suggest you read Acts ch.2 to have a better understanding of what happens when you receive the him.

Well, my friend, First of all, noone can prove it to you. When a little boy is told he will be burned on a stove when it is glowing red, it is possible that logic tells him otherwise. He may have never seen anyone being burnt by a stove that is glowing red before. But then he tries it, wholeheartedly seeking an answer, and he is burned. When you truly seek God, you will have an experience with him. He is an Unseen God. The point is not to prove him to you, but to show you who he is and how to seek him. That is why every relationship with God begins as faith until you have that experience, then you know yourself.

God is Spirit. He communicates through what He is Spirit. If you're born again you have been given the gift of holy spirit. That is your connection, communication, with God (the Holy Spirit). Perfect prayer is via speaking in tongues.

First thing, you need to know his name. You can't have a relationship with someone if you don't even know their name. Second, you can have a personal relationship with God by getting to know him...his likes and dislikes, his purposes for us and for the earth, what he expects from us, etc. Third, prayer is our way of communicating with God. He uses the Bible to communicate with us. You can find answers to questions in the Bible.

I understand that its hard for some to think in terms of having a relationship with someone who doesn't speak to you directly and who you cannot see. That is the difference in spiritual and physical people. Spiritually inclined people don't necessarily to physically see God to believe in him, but physically inclined people do. If you are truly interested in spiritual things, you have to put away your physical thinking and start seeing with eyes of aith.

My Goddess has responded to me through intagible visions, feelings, and actual language. A lot of Christians also have visions given to them, such as in the book "Dreaming of God's Love" by Warren Huddleston.

God is spirit. Not flesh and blood that shows up
on TV. He speaks to your soul. Suddenly
you get the answer from inside. You just
know. The more you want an answer, the
less likely you are to get one.

If you really cared about logic or reason, you wouldn't have removed your other question (RE Creation mythology, "Adam and Eve," and dinosaurs).

You're grasping at anything to use as a crutch to support your prejudice against faith and/or persons of faith.

Grow a pair and formulate your own opinion if you can.
