Do the views expressed by Christians on yahoo answers represent the views of most Christians? If no, how would you say they differ?

I would say they differ because most in real life are at peace with their beliefs and don't feel the need to engage in I'm right-you're wrong shouting matches about an afterlife that none of us has been to.

I don't recall seeing any ordained ministers who are seminary graduates around Answersland.

Gee, maybe they know something the chestbeaters don't.

Yes, because in the real world as on Yahoo there are Christians with all different levels of education. The difference with Yahoo is that a lot of Christians wouldn't ask an atheist or even a Jewish person certain questions about things like Jesus Christ, but on Yahoo many feel obligated to answer every question regardless of their ability to provide a useful answer. I can't believe how many times I see an answer like "I don't know" or "Why did you ask me."

I think they are pretty mainstream. There are, however, a lot more atheists here than in America generally. In America only about 3% of the population is atheist but here I'd put it at about 15%. The Christians are remarkably well-versed and you've got your fundamentalists and hippy-dippy liberals. Lots of Catholics, too, I've noticed. Also realize that many Christians in society at-large really don't care much about their faith. Those who choose to hang around religion/spirituality answers probably care much more.

So, for I'd say the the serious Christians here probably represent the serious questions at-large.

The views of Christians differ almost as much as the views of Americans. They vary quite widely. The various denominational groups have a variety of beliefs based upon what view they take on GOD's BIBLE and how they want to read it. We are also home to a number of people who claim to be Christians one minute and change their minds when something is said that they do not agree with. Some people everywhere are fickle but these people are absolutely out of their minds. A number of the denominations do not want to attempt to understand the Book of Revelation and have written their own Denomination toward their own belief of this book. Have a great evening.

You'll find a lot of differences among professing Christians here, same as anywhere. There are too many examples to list, but if you want to see for yourself, post a question about marriage and divorce. Or politics. Or any other controversial subject. Who is the majority? I think it's impossible to tell. But there are definitely differences in opinion, often when there should not be.

I'm not about to compare groups of people I don't even know.
I am a Christian, and I am not afraid to call a spade a spade.
I am often caustic, but mostly loving - because I am the first to admit that I am sinful. That doesn't mean I have the right to judge anyone, but I does give me the right to identify sin when I see it.
I have a high moral character and I don't see what's wrong with that. If it helps to tell a scared teen that she needs to have more self respect and not worry about what others are trying to force her to do, then I will do that and if I can tell someone who's hurting that I will pray for them and that God loves them, well condemn me for it, but they still win in the end.

I doubt it, I see many different views here among the Christians. I am one, and I havent really seen many that reflect most of my views. Not that all other views are bad but I havent met one yet that sees it the same way I do.

Christianity is divided.... which is sad because in the end, it doesn't matter what little things we have been arguing about (do you have to be baptized in order to go to Heaven? etc etc etc).

why does that matter? u choose what u choose to believe and interpret from reading the bible, but we won't know til the end. all we can know NOW on this Earth is to seek Good, Kindness, Love, Patience, Understanding, Mercy, Thanksgiving, Grace, Joy.... everything positive and healthy and Good in our lives.

instead of wasting time arguing whether or not someone will go to heaven, or whether or not they are sinners...we are all sinners. it's ok. God knows that, He made us. He Knows exactly what we are, and He also sent His only son to save us. we are all forgiven, for past, present and Future sins~

it is done. no need to punish ourselves or others, no need to judge ourselves, or others. we are Clean, and all we need do is REJOICE in that forgiveness and mercy. if u truly believe that and are grateful, there is no way you will take advantage of that and sin like crazy. :)

it's like the relationship of Parent and Child... ur whole life u are rebelling against ur parents.. but as u grow older and appreciate thier sacrifices, u realize on your Own that they were good people and now deserve your love and appreciation.

to tell the truth, all christians have different views. there are different denominations...some conservative, some liberal. some believe in gay rights, some don't...some believe think the government should be run one way and some believe the government should be run another. some believe in divorce, some don't. the only view that remains the same throughout all denominations is that Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior.

In my experience on here, I have divided Christians into two groups: the lukewarm Christians, who say they're Chirstian but their obvious lack of love shows that they're not, and the TRUE Christians, ones who love God with all their heart, and show it through their answers.
