I hear this all the time: that atheists really believe in a supreme being, but we're lying about it. Why would anyone do that? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of believing in god?

Can you accept that some people just do not believe in god?

I'm a very religious person, I believe in a higher power or God. I do everything that God allows, and try to not break the God's rules. But I'm not practical at all, I'm a muslim, and I need to pray like 5 times a day in arabic language, but I don't speak arabic, I don't even undestand what I said to God. That's why I'm not practical at all. What should I do? I'm confused, because many people told me that I'm not longer muslim if I don't pray, but I do believe in God. I mean, I can let it all go, you know, become atheist, but I don't want it. I'm confused help me ...

Anyway, this is not a question for a muslim, it's for anyone, and any religion. Thanks

Would it not be immature for me to say,"I have faith that the earth is a cube"?

I already asked which religion you were most intrigued by, besides your own.

Now, in all fairness, which to you personally find most appalling and non-meaningful?

I will share my thoughts in an added detail after you answer, as I don't want to skew any answers. So, be honest now....

i still can' t believe people actually think that they evolved from monkeys!!! They say it happened in the past because they have no actual proof of it!! if you keep 20 baby monkeys from birth til death you still can't proove that they evolve into humans!!! you can take every monkey on earth and they still wont evolve!! if they so called "evolved" in the past then why aren't they doing it today??? There's a word for why the monkeys all of a sudden "disapeared" in the past!! IT'S CALLED DEATH!!!!!

I have had some experiences with spirits and strange feelings you get during certain times. But I was wondering what people thought about those feelings- maybe if they were just something you created in your mind or something that is real? I thought it was possible that maybe the spirit of someone that has passed away can still exsist. Example: On the anniversary of third year after the death of my grandfather- the light on my desk flashed 3 times. Do you think stuff like that is a quencidence or controlled by a form of a spirit? Kinda like the spirit of god you feel sometimes when you enter a church. Or that sometimes I can smell the pipe tobacco my grandfather used to smoke in the air from time to time. Does anyone have an opinion on this kind of stuff?

We entered Iraq on the basis of two lies-1)Weapons of Mass Destruction, 2)Chemical Agents-If The execution of Saddam Hussein is allowed we will be making a big mistake on the part of The U.S. because he was captured through deception. Only by President Bush stating that there were "Weapons of Mass destruction & Chemical agents" did the U.S. go into Iraq and for that specific purpose only. If the Police were to enter a persons house here in the U.S. and arrested the individual on PROBABLE CAUSE; and those evidences were later found to be inadmissable; then this suspect would be considered "unlawfully detained" and released-as should President Hussein! But CHRISTIANS being the majority here in America will see this through-and do not try to convince me that the courts in Iraq were fair and that Saddam was tried by his peers-he was tried by those who would become puppets to Their New Dictator George Bush! OH NO? Then let Iraq VOTE 4 U.S. occupancy! U KNOW they would vote O-U-T!

Whenever anyone has a legitimate question about the bible, the christians all jump in together to say that either the scripture in question is just a metaphor, or that it is being interpreted "wrong".

They then proceed to quote the passages in the bible that are to be taken literally.

So it is just a matter of interpreting this book in the "right' way?

If that were true, then why hasn't anyone put out a book explaining what the real truth is?

Why have all these passages in there that we aren't supposed to take at their word?

And if the whole thing is the Truth, then we get to start all over again, because I definatlely have a lot of apparently unanswerable questions about it.

What any significance does it play in Roman Catholicism (since I never heard of Protestants celebrating it)? How does Roman Catholics celebrate this holiday? Please enlighten me all you possibly can about the Feast of Annunciation as I will truly be appreciative. Thank you in advance. Happy New Years! :-)
