I'm more anarchist than anything anyway. I don't believe in God or government. Anarchy could never work in the real world, but it's a nice pipe dream.

See, every one has a different meaning of God which is not a human being or a person. God, Almighty, Nature Superpower, Soul all these are synonyms of something unique or powerful in this nature.

Actually the soul which is there within all of us is the reflection of that unique power......It is a very very long explanation. To cut short.....every one whether athiest or not does believe in one of the above names in one form or the other.

The gist of the whole philosophy is that this unique power is within us in the form of soul. And the goal of everyone of us is to unite this soul with that unique power or in other words to realise our potential.

Does it make sense? I can explain further if required.

Yes, I would be surprised. One of the benefits of atheism is that you respect, but don't worship things, including the government. There is no power higher than yourself.

sure, by telling them there IS a higher power.

In all ages hypocrites, called priests, have put crowns upon the heads of thieves, called kings. It makes for an even more powerful government.

This confounds me. If I believed in god, why would I lie about it? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of believing in a higher power?

Why do people keep trying to imply that Atheists must just be afraid of believing in god? No, Atheists just don't believe in any god. Period. Its not about fear, its about "no god".

Sure I believe in God, and Santa, and Easter Bunny and pixies and I am so sorry that the monsters from under my bed ate them all when I was to small to save them.

That would be like the most extreme lie in the world.

Good thing it's not true.

I'm an atheist and I despise governments.

But yes I would be surprised.

I'd wonder why I never told myself.
