What any significance does it play in Roman Catholicism (since I never heard of Protestants celebrating it)? How does Roman Catholics celebrate this holiday? Please enlighten me all you possibly can about the Feast of Annunciation as I will truly be appreciative. Thank you in advance. Happy New Years! :-)

The Annunciation is when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and asked her if she would be willing to be the mother of Jesus. "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee." Mary's yes began Jesus growing within her and 9 months later, Christmas.
Since we do not know the exact date of Christ's birth and we celebrate December 25 as His birthday, then the Annunciation is celebrated 9 months before December 25 or March 25.
The angel then told Mary that cousin Elizabeth was also with child. (John the Baptist). Mary then goes to be with Elizabeth, (The Visitation), and stays with her until John is born.

This is a special day that Catholics set aside to honor the fact that Mary said YES to becoming the Mother of Jesus Christ. Literally, Annunciation means announcement, which is the the announcement of the Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Mother that she should bear a Son and she should name Him Jesus. Without Her agreement, there would be no salvation for mankind, so we especially honor her for this.
We go to mass on this special day in thanksgiving.

Feast of Annunciation is a holy day of obligation (we have to go to Mass). It is the day the holy spirit (through the Angel Gabriel) told Mary that she would have a child.

It's when the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her she was to have Jesus. We don't really celebrate it, it's just a Holy Day of Obligation and we have to go to Church...
