Sigh.
First: Not monkey. Apes.
Second: Man did not evolve from apes; man and apes have common ancestry.
Third: It seems you don't know the first thing about evolution - it doesn't happen during a single generation, but as a process over hundreds of thousands of generations.
By arguing against something you don't even understand, you just make yourself - and your fellow believers - look stupid.
here's a site for you that can explain it - with pictures:
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/
There's all the evidence you need, and no competing scientific theories. We don't "believe" it; we know it's factual, just like we don't need to "believe" gravity because we understand it and can observe it.
I still can't believe people think there's an invisible guy in the sky.
And you're 18.. what's wrong with our schools?

I think the argument is fascinating.
Personlly I am not a Christian, and I'm not a worshipper in the church of Science either, so maybe I have a slightly less biased viewpoint on all this.
The Theory of Evolution is just that - a theory. And the mainstream scientific belief has changed *radically* in the past ten years, with everybody and their dog suddenly DISCOVERING hundreds of examples of how characteristics we acquire during our lives can indeed be passed on to our children. Wow! What a coincidence that all this evidence should turn up all at once! It's yet another example of how "resistant" scientific theories can become to the facts, even when there is a mountain of them.
The Creationists (and this was a surprise to me to learn firsthand) are generally more openminded about the issue than the Evolutionists. This is because (except for the "Bible-Is-The-Literal-Truth!" extremists) they accept that their belief system IS a belief system, rather than a fact. The Evolutionists - and the worshippers of Science in general - seem unwilling or unable to admit this to themsleves, and will say things like "Educate yourselves!" or "Learn the Facts!" when what they are actually saying is "Learn our Belief System and adopt it".
Personally I think worship of Science is currently a greater retardant to the truth than the worship of Jehovah - but only because globally science has more Believers.

People evolved from monkeys. An isolated population of monkeys, to be sure. The main population of monkeys had different selection pressures on them, and were the ancestors of the modern monkeys we see today.
If I took every monkey on Earth, and subjected them to isolation and selection, I think I could get a fairly convincing emulation of humanity in about 30 million years.
Monkeys are still evolving today, as are human beings. The changes are slow. You won't see any apparent changes in your lifetime -- unless you plan on living about four million years.
Thanks for your rant. Here's mine:
There's no undeniable unmistakable irrefutable evidence for the action of God in the past 1,970 years. Even if I admit that at one time He existed, how do I know that He still does?
Why doesn't the Bible mention chimpanzees? The Bible says God made man in his own image -- but why doesn't it say that He then did the same favor for chimpanzees?

There is a missing link. I believe that along with Trillions of other planets in the Universe, Earth can and does support human life. Some of these planets were "seeded" with either embryos or DNA by advanced civilizations millions of years ago. This action was performed to expand human existence throughout the Universe. UFOs are here to check on our progress.

Wow, you really need to study evolution before you give an opinion on it.
The definition
Biological evolution, simply put, is descent with modification. This definition encompasses small-scale evolution (changes in gene frequency in a population from one generation to the next) and large-scale evolution (the descent of different species from a common ancestor over many generations). Evolution helps us to understand the history of life.
The explanation
Biological evolution is not simply a matter of change over time. Lots of things change over time: trees lose their leaves, mountain ranges rise and erode, but they aren't examples of biological evolution because they don't involve descent through genetic inheritance.
The central idea of biological evolution is that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor, just as you and your cousins share a common grandmother.
Through the process of descent with modification, the common ancestor of life on Earth gave rise to the fantastic diversity that we see documented in the fossil record and around us today. Evolution means that we're all distant cousins: humans and oak trees, hummingbirds and whales.
2 things to remember:
1. Humans did not evolve from chimpanzees. Humans and chimpanzees are evolutionary cousins and share a recent common ancestor that was neither chimpanzee nor human.
2. Humans are not "higher" or "more evolved" than other living lineages. Since our lineages split, humans and chimpanzees have each evolved traits unique to their own lineages.
Seriously, you might want to take a look at a science class or two before showing your ignorance in this fashion. It only serves to embarrass you and it doesn't help those who agree with you, either.

you believe we came from dirt.
i believe we evolved from monkeys over a very very very long period of time and you believe we we magically transformed from dirt in less then a day. now monkeys are more similar to humans then dirt is and i say that it took more time then you say it took for DIRT to become a HUMAN. why is what i say ridiculous when there is evidence ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution ),
but what you say is not even though there is no evidence for it and the theory comes from a book which contradicts itself, and advocates slavery, and discriminates against women.
and from your description i dont think you understand how evolution works, monkeys are evolving today.

Monkeys didn't all of a sudden disappear in the past-they still exist, as does man. I do not agree with the theory of evolution but your question doesn't make sense to me.
