I can read anythig in the OT and learn from it.Some guy obviously a little kid posted a question about a scripture in which a man was required to pay 40 pieces of silver for the price of forcing a girl , and he also had to marry her .He intended it as some kind of a piece of evidence in his mind that this shows the bible to be wrong or ridiculous. I never feel that way, but always get great instruction form stories such as those. Some things I get from it are:
responsibility, comittment, honor, order, restitution, sacrifice, justice, purity, cleanness, value, defense of family values, forgiveness, truth, reality, rape prevention, defense of chastity. I look in the world at the detractors and scoffers who would bring this as an accusation and see none of these, but promotion of the opposite, and is it any wonder I believe the bible?
