...I mean, if they are going to take it so literally, how can they trust they are getting all of it, an accurate translation???

I'm an atheist and I have no problem with christians(except when they try to pass laws based on their religion) but I always wonder if it doesn't bother them the fact that their bible in which they relay for morals and guide has been translated and modificated so many times that the version the follow may not be exactly as the original? I mean, the phrase "lost in translation" can be applied here, there are things in the bible that were changed during the firsts centuries of the catholic church to fit what they were doing especially during the inquisition and we know how "nice" were catholics during that time. ALso, there are books that were removed from the bible and others that were introduced and that there are words in arameo and greek that simply can be translate to english or spanish and therfore is up the the translator to interpret so basically what you are following is an interpretation by someone.

Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed tried to attack the Roman Empire in what was called Tabouk convoy. He said that the reason was that they were trying to invade Muslims.

When prophet Muhammed arrived near the Romans and found out their strength, he returned back and told his companions that the Romans CHANGED THEIR MINDS and they no more trying to invade Muslims!

This incident raised few questions that I am trying to find some answers for them:

1- How did prophet Muhammed know that the Romans were preparing to invade Muslims (the well-documented Roman history does not tell anything about any preparation for such invasion)?

2- If the Romans were really trying to invade Muslims, why did they change their minds?

3- If the Romans were not preparing to invade Muslims, does not that mean that propeht Muhammad's war was purely OFFENSIVE?

Matthew 10

5These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'

As we all know a homosexual is born as a homosexual. If Jesus was not gay,he would be hetrosexual. But still he didn't have sex or attraction for women. So one can never say for sure wether he is heterosexual or not.If he is not heterosexual he is gay.Even if he was gay he can resist temptation to have sex with a man or do it in secret.

--Which Catholics put together--and there are books missing from it too... You revere King James the tyrant?

King James was a tyrant, does he know better than the Catholics who decided on all the ancient books in the first place?

Why do Protestants revere English murderous Rebels like Luther, King Henry, and KIng James more than those who came a millenium before who put it together in the first place?

Deuteronomy 22 (New American Standard Bible)5

"A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.”

Our new pastor says that Bible believing women may not wear slacks (in church or anywhere else).

He says that is God’s Law.

I can’t stand to wear dresses or skirts. What shall I do?

I live in a very small town with only one church.

I agree that a drag queen is also wrong in accordance to the same verse.

Do you agree with me?

The very last word in this verse has a profound difference of translation in the many differing bibles. Some say eternal life, some say everlasting life, some say limitless life, some say whole life, one even says life eonian, whatever that means. My point is this. We the mainstream so called non-believers, dont believe anymore because no denomination can agree on verbiage.

If one reads the writings of the early Christians (not talking about the heretics), one will find that they believed all of the things that only Catholics believe today.

My brother-in-law wanted to convert so he had to go through a year of school at the local temple and lots of meetings with the Rabbi. It was quite an ordeal and took a lot of time. My wife said she would not mind converting since I'm Jewish but doesn't want to have to jump through all those hoops. Is there an easier way to convert?

You always act suprised when non-beleivers refuse to believe upon your insistence. You seem to think that quoting the Bible at us will have some magic power, but if we don't believe in the Bible to begin with, why should this approach work?

Has it ever occured to you that you might possibly be WRONG?
