Of old age. What two trees? I am not aware of what his last words were, as I wasn't there. A Blessed New Year to you.

The Blessed One,went to the Sala Grove of the Mallas,in the vicinity of Kusinara and asked Ananda to prepare for Him a couch between the twin Sala trees, with the head to the north. Then the Blessed One lay down on his right side,in the lion's posture, resting one foot upon the other, and so disposed Himself, mindfully and clearly comprehending
At that time the twin Sala trees broke out in full bloom, though it was not the season of flowering, and the blossoms rained upon the body of the Tathagata and dropped and scattered and were strewn upon it in worship of the Tathagata. And celestial mandarava flowers and heavenly sandalwood powder from the sky rained down upon the body of the Tathagata.

The Blessed One then told Ven.Upavana who was fanning Him to move aside as deities from the tenfold world-system who had gathered to see the Tathagata complain that Ven.Upavana was blocking their view.

The last word of the Tathagata:"Behold now, bhikkhus,I exhort you:All compounded things are subject to vanish.Strive with earnestness!"

How the Buddha died by Ven Dr. Mettanando Bhikkhu

Another version of Buddha’s last words: He was saying, "Don't be complacent. Watch out for danger. Protect the mind's good qualities. Don't get caught with your guard down."

A friend of his made him soup, but hadn't realized there were bad mushrooms in it.

There are a few version of his last words. The most generally accepted is "All composite things pass away. Strive for your own salvation with diligence".
