I know we are brought up to think that that's the norm, but at the end of the day, we are just animals aren't we? Just clever animals who have made evrything a ritual. So do you think it's natural for us to be monogomous?

I belive in the GOD who has the following qualities:

"He is God, the One God Independent and sought by all; He begets not, nor is begotten, and there is none like unto Him" (The Holy Qur 'an - Chapter 112 - Al-Ikhlas- Sincerity of Faith)

Brisard, a private intelligence analyst who once worked for the French conglomerate Vivendi, compiled a report in 1997 on the financing behind the al-Qaida network.

In this report he said:
"It's a political question for them. They have to support those religious fundamentalists because they are a large part of the regime of the kingdom and they need them to survive politically. Wahhabism, the Saudi form of Islam, is one of the harshest forms, and bin Laden is a product of his country."

There are many practices that the Wahhabis believe are contrary to Islam, such as:

* Listening to music or watching television
* Listening to radio
* Photographs or drawings of human beings or other living things which contain a soul.

It is true that these are extremist views, in the modern world but how does this equate to terrorism?
How believable is this and why?

people say that religion makes life pointless, because you just want to get to the afterlife. but it's wanting to get to that afterlife that gives life meaning because you want to be a good little boy or girl in order to see the wonders of heaven.

my question was never answered before when i asked how can athiests say that life is precious. all the responses i recieved were people saying that they were atheists and they think life is precious. they never told me a logical reason why it was, yet they told me that was being illogical.

here's my logic: you do what you do but in the end you die. you don't remember what you do, whether you were happy or not, whether you completed something or not, or whether or not you really made a difference for future generations. yet people still tell me that i'm being illogical and that since you're going to die, you should be good because it'll be better for future generations.

SHOW ME SOME LOGIC NOW PLZ!!!!

We know the (holy book) is the word of God because the (holy book) says it's the word of God, and if you refer to earlier in this sentence, the (holy book) is the word of God.

Does that apply to every religion? Are there any religions that don't have that system of logic?

So, you spend your life preparing to enter God's holy kingdom. You pray everyday...take care of those in need...you strive to everyone...people know and refer to you as, "such a saint..."...you do your best to do God's work...you give up your many of your own needs to help the needs of others...

One day, after a very full and rewarding life, you get very sick. You think,"Here it is...my time of triumph!! I can be with God, the one that I adore and have worked for throughout my life." Finally, the sickness takes over and you die...

The next thing you know, you are pecking through a hard off-white shell that looks to be the inside of an egg. As you stick your head out, you see what looks like a mother Chickadee and she has a whole mess of regurgitated food she wants to pour down your baby-bird throat...you suddenly think...WHAT THE $%#@!!! I work my entire life for God only to become a %$#*ING SCAVENGING PATHETIC NORTHEASTERN BIRD!!!!

Would you be pissed if this happened?

when ever skeptic/atheists argue that christianity is a myth christians will try to argue with logic on the issue (evidence against evolution, i.e.), atheists will say that the matter is just too contentious, too unclear, to argue that god quite logically exists

and when athiests say that, christians will then say that our logic doesn't matter. God isn't supposed to be understood with reason and the way you know that god is real is "spiritually" in your heart

I think when people say they "know" for a fact that god is real and have felt him in their heart, they get confused.
while standing up during the praise & worship portion of a church service, hands protruded in the air and tears welling up in their eyes, they don't realize that they are simply feeling a series of human emotions

when people say that it is not emotion because "it is beyond words" that kind of reasoning doesn't adequately justify faith at all.

As an atheist, I find that I'm not nearly as irritated by Jews as some other faiths. I'm not saying that I agree with their beliefs...it's just that they don't seem to be very evangelical. They never come to my door with tracts and words of warning about hell. I never see them on TV hammering away at the "unsaved." They seem to kind of stick to their own and not concern themselves with converting others to their beliefs. There is seldom a scandal within their church. As far as "believers" go...I think they are not very intrusive into the lives of others. Does anyone else find these things generally true?
