Its more natural for women to be 'faithful' than men (before I get lynched by the feminists please think about the biological practicalities), besides I know women can be just as unfaithful as men, some seem to delight in the pain it causes. There's some sick people out there.
I think yes of course we can be true. There might be a desire to occasionally run off with someone else but if you really care for someone then being true to them would feel natural, indeed make you feel good. Even if they'd never know.
Problem comes when you've got a jealous, vindictive, cruel and ignorant girl who accuses you of cheating based on nothing at all.
I don't know if its natural for us to be monogamous but I think we should be. I think life would be a bit better if we were as long as we find the right person first.

Don't try and excuse the fact you're not faithful. Being faithful means courage and sacrifice. It's very easy to say "oh I'm just an animal, this is what I'm meant to do!". And it's very hard to work to actually do something properly - like be a proper husband or wife! Look at the impressive, amazing things in the world - medicine, the rule of law, the Eiffel Tower...do you think these were created by slobs who couldn't summon up any courage or make some sacrifices?

No we can not naturally be faithful. Humans have created a world full of rules and contradictions that are not natural. In the animal world the strongest breed and the weak die, natural selection. In the human world we spend lots of money trying to keep the sick and disabled in equal status. Humans massacre each other and kill for fun. Animals only kill for food or defense. It is an animal instinct to get horny when a sexy woman is about and when you get horny it's difficult to resist. However due to moral or religious restrictions we have placed upon ourselves most of us see faithfulness as a good thing.

It is possible to be faithful, However it wont happen unless you truly want it. You must know that any piece of *** is not worth losing your relationship. You must also trust your partner to want to be faithful to your partner. Temptation will always be there... A lot of people have a problem accepting the fact that it temptation will be there. Usually a person with a strong spiritual background will be more likely to be faith full because of the sin they feel it is to cheat.

I don't think it is 'natural' but over time we've developed a monogomous tendency, and serious jeaslousy issues. Therefore we work at me monogomous.

Any human can be faithful to other people, or animals, or a cause, or calling. If, but only if they have integrity. Some call it strength of character. I call it, plainly a sense of justice, honour, and that which is right.

Some animals are, by nature, monogamous, so if you're using the argument of "monogamy isn't natural" it's a false premise.
Also, in theory the higher intelligence that we have developed keeps us from doing things for reasons other than purely instinctive.

i think that most of us are monogamous by nature. and given a set of cicumstances, argument with partner, out with friends, alone with someone drink around unfaithfulness will quite often happen no doubt with regrets later. i agree with your opening line, we tend to conform because we have been taught this is the norm.

Being monogamous is how we're designed to live.
What's natural is different, since our natures are 'fallen'.
In many aspects of life we struggle against natural urges to behave and live in the morally correct way.

sorry but humans and animals are two very distinct things.
As per your question, there are all kinds of us and we all behave in different ways, some of us are honest most of us aren't, regardless of religion etc etc, although I do know a kind of people whose men seem to go for every woman they can in order to have as many kids as they can.
