So, you spend your life preparing to enter God's holy kingdom. You pray everyday...take care of those in need...you strive to everyone...people know and refer to you as, "such a saint..."...you do your best to do God's work...you give up your many of your own needs to help the needs of others...
One day, after a very full and rewarding life, you get very sick. You think,"Here it is...my time of triumph!! I can be with God, the one that I adore and have worked for throughout my life." Finally, the sickness takes over and you die...
The next thing you know, you are pecking through a hard off-white shell that looks to be the inside of an egg. As you stick your head out, you see what looks like a mother Chickadee and she has a whole mess of regurgitated food she wants to pour down your baby-bird throat...you suddenly think...WHAT THE $%#@!!! I work my entire life for God only to become a %$#*ING SCAVENGING PATHETIC NORTHEASTERN BIRD!!!!
Would you be pissed if this happened?

I suppose I would be pissed, but that goes away. After all, I'd be too busy worrying about how to swallow bird vomit and push my brothers and sisters out of the way so I can get something to eat. But, you haven't missed out on anything have you? No matter what you believed, you were still going to end up as a pathetic bird or some other creature.
I think the real question is, "What if you went through life preparing to become a bird (or anything else for that matter), and then you die and find out that there is a God, and all he asked was that you trust that he sent his Son to die in your place, but now it's too late and you'll be spending eternity in hell?" That would make me pissed. Some say that the worst part about eternity in hell, is that you know that God sent his Son to save you and you refused to believe it.
Believing in God is a no-risk situation. Either you end up in heaven rather than hell, or you end up as a bird which would have happened anyway.

You'd still have lived a more fulfilling life. You'd have lived a life of hope and the satisfaction of helping others and the freedom from guilt. You'd avoid a lot of trouble and some diseases. You'd be more beloved. You probably would be a much happier person, not as stuck on yourself as some people are. When you died, you'd go in peace, knowing that you'd made a positive impact on the world and that the next world would be better for you.
And if you were wrong, you'd cease to exist and never know it.
What if it's all the truth and you live as if it isn't? What would happen when you died?

Might wanna double check your statement; it makes no sense.
First, if it is all a lie, then it means no hope for anyone. Life ends when your body dies and that's it, like you never were. "Eat, drink and be merry, for we die tomorrow."
The whole baby bird thing is reincarnation, which suggests a type of afterlife, a soul that continues living beyond this life only to be born into another one. So either we have a soul or we don't, either there is an afterlife or there isn't. You can't have it both ways - no God but still a soul that lives on through another form of life.

I don't believe it to be wrong to question religion. Are Christians right, or Muslims, or Hindus? Truth is that what happens after death is a great mystery. That being said, I believe that to determine which is the right way to go, we should examine the evidence. Does what we believe hold up under scrutiny? I encourage you to read Evidence That Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. Also C.S. Lewis has several books discussing the evidences of Christianity namely Mere Christianity. Both these authors were former atheist who examined the evidence themselves. Josh McDowell studied the evidence because of a challenge by a christian friend.

Reincarnation. Assuming that I was aware of the transition, I would be interested in the point of view.
Imagine flying high up into the air on your own power. If I still had my own thoughts and memories, Imagine all the things I could do that would radically change religion.
Headline " Northeaster bird pecks out the 10 commandments on laptop! "
" Bird confirms reincarnation!"
" Bird spots criminals and calls 911!"
...okay, that last one was pushing it, but you get my point.
best wishes.

No, actually that would be kinda ironic. What would upset me would be if I live my whole life the opposite way and really deserved hell, and then once I crawled through a hole in the egg shell I saw that same bird looking at me chirping away-then I realized I was a worm.

What if it's not? If it is a lie, then I've spent my life doing good things for people I didn't know, and in my mind (at least) serving Someone who I thought was worthy of my devotion, love, and service. Maybe it turns out I was a fool. But I'd rather be a fool for Christ, than be the smartest person in the world, without Christ.
What does it profit a man, if he gains the world, but looses his soul?

I'm not a religious person, in fact I don't even believe in God. i think it's all a very silly little sham but that said I think it's perfectly ok for people to believe what ever they want, providing they stop pushin git on everyone else.
I think if you were a bird you would not have any awareness of what you once were.

Of course I wouldn't be pissed. I'd be a barely aware baby bird with extremely little in the way of thought processess and that regurgitated food would taste delicious.
