I think the bible is about God, about love, about life, and about happiness. I love it more than anything else. And people, please don't spam in here about how much you hate the bible. Just be nice about it, or don't say anything

Well, Katiy, here's a definition of the Bible and quite a bit more:

The Bible: The books (Greek, biblia) that are acknowledged as canonical (authoritative) by the early Christian Church. It includes both the books of the ancient Hebrew prophets and those of the apostolic witnesses to Jesus Christ.

The Hebrew Bible: The books of the Old Testament.

The languages of the Bible: Mostly ancient Hebrew for the Old Testament (Aramaic for a small portion of Daniel), ancient Greek for the New.

The New Testament: The 27 authoritative books of the apostolic writings: the four Gospels of Christ, Acts (a history), 21 apostolic letters and the book of Revelation.

The Old Testament: Those books that make up the Hebrew Bible generally accepted by Christians, Jews and to some extent Moslems. It contains a threefold division: the Law (the five books of Moses), the Prophets and the Writings.

Oracles: In the New Testament the term means divine utterances and generally refers to the entire Old Testament or specific parts of it.

The Scripture(s): The divinely inspired writings of both the Old and New Testaments. The term Scripture is used in the New Testament to refer to both the Hebrew Bible (Luke 24:44-45) and the new apostolic writings accepted as inspired (2 Peter 3:16; 1 Timothy 5:18).

Secularization or Secularism: The silencing of the supernatural; an implicit denial of the miraculous in explaining human existence.

The Bible has helped me build a foundation for a life that I'm proud of, Katiy. In short, the Bible teaches one about Christianity and how to live accordingly. One could call it the best history book ever written.

The Bible is not only salvation but life's instruction book. Its the blunt truth that a lot of people don't like to hear but it's the only book that tells you how to be saved from hell and it's the only book that accurately detail the past, present, and future. No other book can do that. On top of that it talks to you when you read it.

1"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1

The Word is God in the flesh...or Jesus!

It is all about God.
The Bible tells us about God's personality, the things that hurt him, what makes him smile, his faithfulness...

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." - John 1:1-3

That's basically it in a nutshell.
If you really want to understand the Bible, good on you! Pray, and God will help you.
God bless.

It is the how man saw history. It is the history of the Jewish people, and their relationship with G-d, and their effort to make a better world. That history still goes on today. It is just that the history books are different.

I only accept the Tanakh as the Bible-what Christians call the OT.

Basically---it says that we all have a disease called sin. This sin will send us to hell forever. God has made a real easy way for us to miss hell and enjoy heaven. He told us just how easy this is in John 3. Then He gives us the rest of the book let us look at how people in the past have gotten it wrong-so we will not make the same mistakes. He even gives us a glimpse of the future-and that's about it.

The Bible is about pure "Love". Love everlasting coming
from the Creator (who by the way is not mad) through the form
of his Son Jesus, who is God in the human form.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have Everlasting Life

It is a condensed history of the world. The old testament is anyway. The new testament is a collection of riddles and psycho babel.

Anyone who read is will know. Everyone who says it is love and what-not never read it or are retarded.
