The Christian population of the areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority (PA) has sharply declined in recent decades, as tens of thousands have abandoned their holy sites and ancestral properties to live abroad. Those who remain comprise a beleaguered and dwindling minority. In sharp contrast, Israel’s Christian community has prospered and grown by at least 270 percent since the founding of the state.

While Israel understands that the construction of the security barrier inconveniences some of the Christian communities living in its vicinity, Israel has shown sensitivity to Christian interests in planning the route of the barrier.

The plight of Christian Arabs remaining in the PA is, in part, attributable to the adoption of Muslim religious law in the PA Constitution. Israel, by contrast, safeguards the religious freedom and holy places of its Christian (and Muslim) citizens.

What are your thoughts onTrinity Broadcasting Network's colorful version of Little Bo Peep Jan Crouch? Her big ol'e pink Miss Texas hair wigs, big ol'e dime store jewelry and make-up, and barbie doll clothes are an atroscity. The worst part is when she opens her mouth and babbles....trying to bleed all the poor grandma's out there for thier grocery money so thier tv ministry can reach the masses. Watching her bat those larger than life tarantuala eyelashes, with mascara running down her face is kinda like watching a train wreck....you can't help but watch, lol

Yup, that's the viewers money at work for ya....and it's actually quite sad so many are duped by her and her husband. Your thoughts?

Seriously, I'm getting tired of people using quotes from the bible to back up their opinion on an issue that is not fiction based, i.e.

Is this wrong? Why should we do this? What happened many years ago?

versus

Who is Job? What motivated Ezikiel? Was Jesus a dirty rat bastard?

If you think that the Bible is true word for word, why? I can see how people see it as a good rule of thumb, but as universal truth? Come on. Convince me that I can use the many times translated and edited book to live my life.

Christmas is directly related to pagan practices based upon the supposed birth of an ancient divinity from a rock. The matter was then related to Jesus Christ's birth when important Roman rulers supposedly converted to Christianism, and this some 300 yrs after Christ. So why do many Christian denominations celebrate that day if it is embracing pagan's faith?

To my knowledge, not many have heard of this one (at least in the debating I've done). In all honesty, this is one of the reasons (not the only) that I believe as a Christian that the Bible is divinly inspired by God. Scriptures such as Isaiah 52:13-53:12 are quite intreaging as well, but as far as I can see, this gematria phenomena is breathtaking.

Opinions, comments, rebutals, additional information... all are welcome within good taste.

(btw, I'm new to this place, so forgive me if this has already been brought up)

My mother attends a weekly christian fellowship in a neighbourhood. She likes going, although finds the majority of people quite depressing (most are elderly). I’m in my mid 30’s and she’s in her mid 60’s. I still live with her. Every time she goes to the group, she comes back feeling quite down. Yesterday, when I asked her how she was, she said, “Not very good. I don’t know how long I can keep going round there and face the fact that we’re in the same circumstances as Susie* (aged 79) and Stephen* (aged 46)”. What she means by this is it re-enforces the fact that me and my mother are all alone like Susie* and her son Stephen*. She keeps comparing me to Stephen* and says, “You’re just the same type as him - unmarried and is awkward with people like you are. Susie* and Stephen* have only got each other just like us two and it scares me. Susie’s* still worrying about Stephen* at the age of 46 and I dread that we’ll end up the same in years to come”.
I hate it when she compares me to Stephen* (as he’s an awful character) and I do tell my mother that I’m nothing like him and I can’t help it if I’m not married yet and have no family. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I hope the above makes sense. PLEASE HELP.

1. Did you know that islam is the only other religion other than christianity that believes in Jesus Christ. We the muslims believe that Allah loved him very much & we love him too.
2. We believe that Jesus Christ was born with a miracle unlike most of the modren day christians.
3. We believe that he was given the miracle of giving life to the dead & curing the sick ones.
4. A muslim is not a muslim if he does'nt believe in him.
5. In Quran there is a whole chapter on his mother Mary by the name "Maryam" that means Mary. The third chapter of Quran is "Al Imran" Which means the family of Jesus.
6. Quran tells us something that even the bible does'nt tell, that is Mary was selected from the entire womanhood because she was the best among them. If Mohammad P.b.u.h was not a true prophet of God than the Quran should actualy be saying this for his mother, not Mary. Would you like to read these chapters from the Quran. Believe me you will not hate us anymore. What do you say?

i mean most women convert Islam because the way it treats her im a women and in Islam im treated the best..men open car doors when im going in,they help us,they don't let us stand in lines for stuff in markets for example, they let us pass first.if a women is carrying something heavy they help her with it,sometimes i wake up and my car is clea, because my old man neighbor cleaned it while cleaning his,i lived my whole life in Muslim countries. Palestine,Jordan,Saudi,Egypt and went to the USA and Britain but never found a good way in treating a women, only in Islam When a women is married, she can not work if she does not want, but she also can, both ways the HUSBAND is the one to spend money on her,the money she gets from work is hers, When she is hurt even by a touch she can go to court,Islam gives her the right to divorce and have money too,mom and all Muslim married women i knew in my whole life are treated LIKE QUEENS.Why do people say that Islam is against women?

I am a Protestant. I was just reading the modern Catholic Church's interpretations of what the Seven Deadly Sins and their opposing Virtues entail, and I thought that what they advocated was a pretty good... 'guide' if you will to what is right and wrong from a Christian perspective. I'd even go so far as to say that the way these interpretaitions advocate living one's life pretty much sums up a large part of the ethos of what it is to be a Christian. I was just wondering what the opinions of other Protestants (be they Evangelical/Baptist/Methodist/Lutheran whatever) were on this matter?

Could we think that hell and paradise are conditions of our mind and they will reflect forever our last life feeling (the final result)? Could we think that our last feeling of beatitude or nightmare will be eternally frozen at the end of life, when the perception of time passing will be lost and this last feeling will be forever?
