The purpose? Guide people.
The truth? Power, money and greed.

Thanks you.

RELIGION IS LIKE A GUN:
There are many reasons people turn to religion. For the majority of the people, I would say that religion is like a gun. We use it as protection, and when we have it, we are self-assured that nothing bad may happen to us - we feel protected, shielded and with all this, there is a feeling of relief.

DO YOU NEED RELIGION IF YOU KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG?:
No, you do not "need" religion if you know right from wrong. However it does not mean that you must turn from it. Religion can be a good guide depending on how you wish to translate God's words. I ask, who decides right from wrong?? Does God? Does the Law? Does your parents? Or do "you" determine this?

Ultimately the decision of religion should be made from you. Although you entered this religion while you were a child, is it right for you to follow this path, or is it the wrong road for you?

My personal suggestion at the end, study it for a bit, you cant decide right from wrong if you do not know the difference. It's like a car accident, if you don't know both sides, how can you determine who was right, and who was wrong?

I end this here, "The gun is in your hands."
Decide wisely, and you will be "right".

something to fight or argue about when people are bored with life. You never need religion, God doesn't have it why should you. Religion causes too much confusion. More people have killed in Wars for religion than any other reason, but yet the Bible teaches wars are wrong, and christians should not fight. But here we are a christian nation killing Koreans, vietnamese, and currently Iraq people for no good reason? Oh yes free oil, that's a real good reason, love of money! Bush has it all worked out. Yes too many christians still live under the Law not realizing how great their punishment will be!!! I believe the Bible is correct, but religion is wrong, you believe what you understand not what a man tells you it says.

Forced is such a harsh word. Try exposed to something positive.

Studying the Bible does help me do right. But let's be honest we do not always do right even believers. The Bible helps me stay close to God even when I do not do right. God is my creator, we as humans ran from Him to persue things that are not right. That is why so many do so many bad things.

The Bible teaches me God loves me as the sinner I am. And Jesus died for me so I can enter His kingdom as the sinner I am.

Look I can't force You or anyone to be a Christian. I like being a Christian, I find it makes my life on earth brighter and easier to deal with everyday problems. I as a Christian am only trying to let those who do not know the choice exist that it does exist.

Aeithiests we are not in the fight with you personaly, it is a spiritual fight that you might not want to see. The devil's greatest trick was fooling many that he does not exist.

Try to read the Bible Voluntaringly now that you are an adult. Pray Voluntaringly now that you are an adult.

Don't let hypocrites you have met take this from you. God knows everyones intention and deed. That's why He warns us narrow are the gates to heaven but wide are the gates to hell. Many will say look what I have done in Your name and He will say I never knew you.

I read evolution, I can argue against it better because I took the time to read and try to understand its basis. It is my Voluntary choice to disagree with it and to believe in the One and True God.

Religion is about finding the truth, it is about finding the answer to a question "Is there another life after we died?".

Religion is also a guide on how to live our life accordingly. Human being cannot be let loose to interpret by himself of what is right and what is wrong. We need religion to guide us.

For example for you and most of the people, killing people is bad. But for a killer, he may think he is doing the right thing when he kills people. Hence we need law (not just man made law but also spiritual law) to guide our life.

Man-made law is not sufficient as most man-made laws only deal with physical or material things but neglect the issue of morality.

there is no 'purpose' of religion. There is simply right and wrong. If you follow a certain religon, then doing what G-d said to do is considered the 'right' thing. Other people call it religion, religious people call it 'right' - it's simply what they're supposed to do. That's the 'purpose', I suppose, of religion.

To me, the purpose of any religion is to find the purpose for your life. If it accomplishes this in a peaceful way, I see nothing wrong with that religion.

religion is a choice that should be made by you not your parents, and religion is a word that is used way too often,

i guess i should tell you i am athiest and beleive that mega churches' religion is to make money, however, no matter what you believe, or dont beleive, you should be well educated in,

as for me being an athiest isnt gonna stop me from trying to be a good person.

I think religion is the way each culture perceives the way they are to present themselves on this earth. How their Morales and code of ethics are founded on.Forced religion is not the answer to anything, that's why we have freewill. The ability to choose.Christ never forced anyone to listen to him,he spoke the word of his father and you listen or you don't.That is my belief.

If you see the religion within yourself, you need it ; if you see the religion outside the world where several undesirable things are happening in the name of religion, you may feel it purposeless.
RELIGION IS NOT IN THE BOOKS, RELIGION IS NOT IN THE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS BUT IT IS IN YOUR MIND AND SOUL.

It was an ancient science designed to explain the natural world before modern science came up with real explanations. eg: Religion: Rainbows are a message from god, promising to never kill everyone again when he's angry.... Science: Rainbows are caused from sunlight being refracted through raindrops. etc etc etc
