Out of curiosity, I completed the online personality test at Scientology.com. Tomorrow Evening I'll be driving over to one of their churches to go over the results.

My instincts are sending me warnings that maybe there is something fishy about this organization. That is, however a complete hunch. Many of my friends are Athiests and they're all prejudicial about any sort of organized religion, even a godless one.

Has anyone ever had a bad experience with the Church of Scientology? I'm easily talked into things and I'd like to keep my guard up.

Our church hired and welcomed a couple who are allegedly married and were referred to us by their former church as great leaders of the GLBT community. Our church redid the baptismal pool, and we had a meeting about what kind of pool to buy. The couple insisted that we "save money" by purchasing a spa with actual jets instead of going through a religious supplier. The price was much lower and we all agreed that no one would be able to tell the difference. Now I must say that this is the most normal couple ever. They are about 50 ish and the wife dresses like an older but hip woman. I went to the sanctuary to pick up an old hymnal and heard two very male voices up front in the pool. There was a man in the pool with the pastor and they were staring at a picture of baby Suri and engaging in sex play. As I got closer, I realized that the second man was actually the pastor's wife. They saw me, and I left. What should I do? I'm pretty hip, but I'm worried about crap in the pool.

for example, if someone is late picking you up from work, and the next day you have to pick them up for work - do you DELIBERATELY pick them up late, to give them a taste of their own medicine, or do you just "let it go"

i am in an interfaith relationship. my husband is jewish and I am catholic. we've decided to raise the child to be jewish. i never converted to judism. so while the child will be raised and educated on judiasm, i still want to celebrate the holidays and traditions that i celebrated growing up - like having a christmas tree. my husband worries that this will confuse our child. i think that this exposes the child to other religions and if explained clearly won't confuse the child. Does anyone have thoughts/experiences with this?

This is the way I comprehend what the bible says about blaphemy. Blasphemy against the Son of Man Meaning Jesus is forgiven, but Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is not forgiven. So Jesus was referring to "knowledge". He is saying that when someone has recieved the Holy Spirit and then speaks against it. It will not be forgiven! But if someone who has never known God and speaks against him it is forgiven right? Sense a person had knowledge of God and chose to speak against him it is unforgiven. So what is the difference between a reprobate mind and Blasphemy? Or are they basically the same? A reprobate mind is when someone has crossed the point of no return!

It is true. Scientist prove it long time ago. What is problem? Why argue with real fact? Evolution do not mean your god is dead.

OK, so, scientists/athiests are super-confident that evolution can explain just about everything-- starting with the origins of life. Now I must say, I am personally not totally averse to evolution, in fact, I think it is a solid theory theory that can explain many things. However, the fact is, there is no way humans came about by evolution or that life came from non-life sheerly by pure coincidence. A leading British mathematician puts the chances of this happening at around 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. Besides, scientists have never been able to synthesize amino acids in the presence of water, or create life from non-life. Also, humans are so special, there is no way they came about through chance. Now getting to the actual question. If evolutionists are so confident in their theory, then why do they get all annoyed when people say that some sort of creationist theory should be taught alongside evolution?
