Jesus and Satan got into an argument over which of them was the better computer programmer. Finally God got tired of the bickering and told them that he would judge a contest between them. They each had four hours to write the best program they could, and then God would decide the winner.
They both got down to business and wrote lines and lines of code. But just before the four hours were up there was a flash of lightning and a tremendous clap of thunder. The lights flickered, the power faltered, and both computer screens went dead.
When power was restored, God declared that time was up and asked to see the results of their work. Jesus flipped on his computer and displayed the most elegant program you could imagine, with beautiful architecture and wonderful syllogisms, triumphs of multimedia sound and pictures -- all kinds of bells and whistles.
God asked Satan what he had created, but Satan said, "I've got nothing, absolutely nothing! My program was twice as good as that, but I lost it all when the power went out. Jesus must have cheated. How could he still have such a great program?"
God replied, "Everybody knows -- Jesus Saves."

If this is the case, would you mind telling me what denomination you are?

Also, how do you defend your belief that only those of your denomination will have immortal life with God and Jesus Christ?

I'm going to add my two cents here. I refused to become a part of any denomination that believes this, because in Romans 10:9-11, Paul says:

9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

of England?

History shows that it was altered five times over a period of 150 years, with the current accepted version being the last one done in 1769. It was King James VI & I intent to create a less controversial Bible. than the Geneva Bible which he felt had offensive portions.

I know this probably sounds stupid. I used to go to church as a kid, but I quit when I was a teenager. I don't think I've ever said one prayer in my whole life, except when I was at church and just reading what was written. But I feel a very strong need to pray because of what I am going through, and I don't know how. Everytime I've tried it just sounded so silly, and I stopped.

The late Douglas Adams envisioned the planet Earth as a computer system designed to compute the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and everything. [The Answer is forty-two.] An ever-changing universe mystifies me. What do I do to ask for help and insight into the ultimate reason for my life here on Earth? What is my place in the divine continuum of time and space? Do the works of Dr. Wayne Dyer help? Will there be mysterious signs to direct and guide me? How can I muster more faith? Where do I look for guidance in my time of need? What is my mortal role in this lifetime? How do I understand my perceptions? Where can I find the esoteric answers I seek? Who will come forward to show me my route? How do I interpret the mystical messages that God is delivering to me through the earthly ways of man and his society? How much stock can I place in Jungian theories of synchronicity?

Check out these webpages, apparently they found blood cells from a dinosaur. How can it be if the dinosaurs lived millions of years ago? It will be impossible for those blood cells to have survived for millions of years, or did dinosaurs not live millions of years ago?
What is your thought on this?

Let's put an end to this once and for all.
I'll give you two minutes to make yourself known to me, personally in a way that will be seen by this board, and that is explicit and unambiguous.
Ready....GO!

I'm so sad right now, I don't know what to do. My Nana has recently passed away, and I am having a very hard time dealing with it. I feel so lost and alone, and I have nobody to talk to. I love her so much, and I miss her. I'm angry because she left me behind, and I am sad because I can't see her anymore. Everybody tells me it will get better, but it's just getting worse. Every day without her is another day I don't want to be here. What can I do to make myself feel better? I can't stop thinking of her, and it just makes me cry.

They say god inflicts pain and suffering to make a man worship him and to make him a good man altogether, but most of the people i have seen who went thru such a cycle of suffering have either gone isane or became more bitter towards life. So do you think this is the right way of god to punish innocent humans for making them nice and subservient.
