Most of it has probably already been said but just wanted to add a couple things.
There's no need to put on airs and graces, God knows what you're like and who you are so just say what you feel, You don't need to give it the "ye art mighty" or anything.
Also if you want to get a structured prayer remember TSP. That's thank you, sorry, please. Basically start off by saying thank you, not to kiss some butt, but to remember who God is and what he's done for you. Then Do the thank you part which often gets you in the mood, remembering what God's done for you. Then you can ask for the things you need from God.
Two final things, When you ask God for something, remember he sees outside the box and so if you're asking for a specific thing that you think is what you need, you may well be dissapointed. Best to always ask for God to help you with whatever, not tell him how to ;)
and lastly the part everyone forgets in prayer is to listen. After you've finished you're not gonna get an answer to prayer if you forget all about it. :)

Prayer it what it is.
Whether its in the church or your knees or on a rollercoaster going straight down. Before a great big meal or a game. In are darkest hour or brightest day. God does not judge the prayer because after a few trillion or so he has heard it all. Just talk and he will listen. It's not silly to want answers and certainly not silly pray anywhere at anytime.
If you want I will say a prayer for you :)
Amen

The best prayer is the one that comes from your heart; what you feel in that moment or what you are going through in life at that time.
God does not want to hear what you think he wants to hear. No fancy long, religious words, but a sincere heartfelt CONVERSATION with Him.
God bless - Remember when you finish, you need to have the assurance He has heard your prayer and will deal with it.

Prayers should be sincere and directed to the most high God Jehovah through the only mediator, his son, Jesus Christ. They can be short or long but should be in your own words and not designed to impress or even necessarily be heard by any other person. Since God knows everything we need before we even ask, it is not necessary to ask for anything but just tell him how we are feeling, what we are thinking and thank him for every good thing he has provided for us. NEVER pray a prayer which is memorized as it is like going through the motions but never really saying anything to God himself.

Not a stupid question at all. I don't go to church, but I have my faith and I do pray, (probably not as much as I should) but it does help. Find a quiet place where you can gather your thoughts and the words will come to you. Nothing is ever to silly or stupid to say...just let your thoughts out. I know it helps me and makes me feel better in knowing I can find comfort in Him to listen. Best of luck to you.

When I pray, I try to begin by giving thanks for all the things in my day...mostly to prevent myself from only coming to God for things that I want. I tell Him what's going on with myself, my friends. I let Him know any worries on my mind and sometimes I read aloud from my bible (psalms is the best book for this, in my opinion).
Basically, for me, prayer is just like having a quiet talk with a friend or a parent. I occasionally ask if He could help out with something, but for the most part, it's just about being with God.

By giving all the glory and honour to our father. That is by saying our lords prayer which is found in the bible, the book of Luke and mention to our father thereafter whatever good things you would want to praise Him for and also call him to intervene in your needs and you also repent sins that you may have commited. Remember prayers are anywhere, anytime of the day is a prayer time to a believer. God said come to me all that labour and I will give you rest, so unto you follow this

It depends on what I'm doing. If I just want to talk to a god, I start thinking of that god, then when I feel the god looking at me, I talk.
If I want stuff, I start casting a circle, writing a petition, recite it, burn it, and contemplate the god.
If I need something, I cast a circle and do complex things you probably don't want to hear about.
It also helps me to have something sacred to that god nearby.

if anybody wants to pray he should coz it makes you feel better and you can do it at home or even in the street just be honest and do it, prayer is a communication between us and God so little words will make it work, read the bible 2 lines before going to sleep and you will feel better
