This sounds like it comes from the book of Genesis. God gave all plants to the sons of men for the purpose of food and medicinal purposes.

First of all, I think there should not be a comma but instead a dash between "seed" and "bearing."
It means that plants and herbs are a gift from God for us humans to use for medicinal purposes. They are to be treated with respect and gratitude. In fact, I have some dear friends, doctors from India, who do prayers over the herbs that they grow and prescribe to their patients.

First of all you have a very drastic grammatical error in the way you wrote the quote.

Here's the correct way:

"" I have given you all the seed bearing plants and herbs to use..."

See the difference? No comma between seed and bearing.

This means that we we can make use of flora, or the plant kingdom, for all our vital needs, namely food. It includes marijuana, of course. But not smoked. If marijuana was allowed to grow freely we'd have plenty around for medicinal and food purposes. There'd be so much of it growing everywhere that we could drink it as tea and put the seeds in our salads.

By the way, check out this quote, which directly pertains to your quote:

"Let Food Be Thy Medicine", Hippocrates (460-377 B.C.) This one is about raw foodism.

Wow... Wisdom abounds but nobody cares about it because:

"Girls just wanna have fun" Cindi Lauper

Actually not just girls, but boys too.

"What a world, what a world" The Wicked Witch of the West. (I think)

It is said -- if you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. But, give a man seeds to plant, and he will continue to have food for days, and years.
