I read the response to many questions asking where is the love in that attitude.

Why is it that everyone always assumes that love is not demanding? When they know that it can be and usually is.

I love my children but that doesn't mean that I will not punish them for acting up or doing something I told them not to do and disrespecting me.

I love my spouse but that doesn't mean I would let her cheat me and take advantage of me continually without consequence.

Why is it that people think that love doesn't require some sacrifice as well. So, just because God loves you doesn't mean that you can get away with anything. It simply means that he is predisposed to forgive you when you ask, and suggests that God grants greater reward and praise to the more faithful who demonstrate their love for him.

Christians say that the Old Testament is pretty much garbage after the Coming of Jesus. Then why christians, do you pick and choose what you want out of it to use against other people, or to preach, and then- when someone tries to ask you a question regarding the horrors which are in it- you become all huffy?
What exactly do you think of the Old Testament?
Did God change his mind about what he told you with the coming Of Jesus?
Help me to understand, after all the hate mail I have recieved I would really like to know what your thoughts are on the Old Testament.

He was breaking the law of the time by stirring up the Jews in Palestine who were resisting the Roman occupation. (Whether it was intentional or not doesn't matter. At least as far as Roman law was concerned.)
For those of you who say no, does that mean you support someone in Iraq who preaches about god and stirs up the Iraqis against the yankee invaders?

I am Catholic and celebrate Christmas, but I would like to see diversity on tv. On Disney Channel, I have concluded that there is only 1 tv show where the family celebrates Channukah. The whole USA is not Catholic and I was wondering who else felt the same about this.

It may surprise the reader that Muhammad was the first to launch a Crusade.

In October to December 630, after the conquest of Mecca in January 630, Muhammad launches a Crusade to Tabuk, a city in the north of Saudi Arabia today, but in the seventh century it was under the control of northern tribes. "Crusade" is the right word, because early Muslim sources say the army had 30,000 men and 10,000 horsemen and because Muhammad did so under the banner of Islam. On his way north, Muhammad extracts (or extorts) "agreements"—without provocation—from smaller Christian Arab tribes to pay the jizyah tax, instead of being attacked and killed (a jizya tax is exacted from non-Muslims for the "privilege" of living under Islam; see Sura 9:29). They also had the option to convert, but most do not and agree, rather, to pay the tax.

Or can God be the only one to forgive sins? John 20:21-23
He said, As the father sent me so am i sending you
For those sins you forgive, they are forgiven, for those sins that you retain they are retained. Can humans forgive sins of others?

I'm just curious because it seems to me that Catholic and Christian are being used interchangeably and I was brought up that Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, etc were all parts of the big Christian pie... so to speak.

Why do supposed 'straight' christians worry so much about what gay people are up to? If you are so worried that people are 'sinning' then aren't there about a million worse sins that people are commiting every day that you say nothing about?
Why don't you worry about the poor? Isn't a sin that society allows children to sleep in the streets? Why don't you consider war a sin? Doesn't your bible say 'thou shalt not kill'?
So, really, explain to me why so much time and effort is spent by self-righteous christians (yes, self-righteous, or did you forget that whole 'he without sin casting stones' idea?) condemning gay people?
Why does that particular law of Leviticus strike you as important? Why aren't you condemning people who lie with a woman while she is 'unclean'? Why aren't you stoning to death children who talk back to their parents, just like your scripture tells you?
How exactly is an act between consenting adults your problem? And why do you care about it so much?

Religious people continue to entertain me with their "logic".
Read the post and make comments accordingly, please don't say things like: "I know jesus is real cause the bible says so" or quote bible versus or threaten me with hell.Read the posts on the page linked above and tell me how can you assert that your religion is correct and that others are damned, please read all the posts or you wont really know how to respond.
BASIC QUESTION WHY IS YOUR RELIGION CORRECT AND OTHERS WRONG,AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS CORRECT?

Ok So God directly influenced the men to write the Bible. He told them what to write, right?

Am I the only who thinks that maybe that's not the full story? That maybe the men just wrote what they thought was not, and told him, that it was the words of god.

I mean, supposdly it says that Gay is wrong. That Gay people are sinners, and what not. Don't you think that God would love all his children?
