I read the response to many questions asking where is the love in that attitude.

Why is it that everyone always assumes that love is not demanding? When they know that it can be and usually is.

I love my children but that doesn't mean that I will not punish them for acting up or doing something I told them not to do and disrespecting me.

I love my spouse but that doesn't mean I would let her cheat me and take advantage of me continually without consequence.

Why is it that people think that love doesn't require some sacrifice as well. So, just because God loves you doesn't mean that you can get away with anything. It simply means that he is predisposed to forgive you when you ask, and suggests that God grants greater reward and praise to the more faithful who demonstrate their love for him.

Yes this is correct.
God does discipline, and it's out of Love.

You do discipline your child, don't you out of Love, to let him or her know they done wrong, and that you want them to better themselves.

Love and Peace!

That's true..but we all must first step back and question our intensions..are we acting out of love..or is hate the root. We must make sure that our heart is in right standing with God..and if it is..then yes..stand up for what you believe in..loving the person, but hating the garment spotted by sin. Just make sure it's not the person that you hate.

But yes, God loves us..but still there are consequences for our actions..you reap what ever it is that you sew.

The point of punishment is to teach people not to repeat their mistakes. Tell me then, how does an eternity in torture qualify as a punishment when no one will ever get the opportunity to learn from their mistakes? It sounds more like *revenge* to me.
