He was breaking the law of the time by stirring up the Jews in Palestine who were resisting the Roman occupation. (Whether it was intentional or not doesn't matter. At least as far as Roman law was concerned.)
For those of you who say no, does that mean you support someone in Iraq who preaches about god and stirs up the Iraqis against the yankee invaders?

Jesus actually didn't commit any crime. He is the Son of God and is sinless and would have never committed a crime of any type. The Jewish leaders didn't like that He was preaching scripture and then saying that God sent Him, that God was His Father, that He was the Son of God, etc. They accused Him of being King of the Jews (Lord) and they didn't except that the Messiah would have been born to a young girl, live in poverty and be a man. They thought the Messiah would be a great spirit coming to them from Heaven already grown, sitting on a gold throne and wearing a crown of jewels. Since they didn't accept Jesus as the Messiah that God promised the Israelites, they demanded Pilate to crucify Him like a criminal. The Romans were the military force there and Pilate made them kill Jesus. Even Pilate didn't want to kill Him, he thought a large beating (scrouging) would be a fair punishment for what the Jewish leaders were accusing Him of. But the Jewish leaders demanded Jesus be killed otherwise they would take Pilate to King Ceasar It was the Jewish leaders that accused Jesus of blasphemy and the Roman soliders that killed Him.

But Jesus never blasphemied because He is the Son of God and God did send Him to be our Messiah, our Saviour.

Jesus was the son of God. The jews punished Him for telling them this. The Romans scourged Him, and sent Him back to Pilate. Pilate deemed Him blameless, and washed his hands of what the jews wanted to do to Him. The jews have paid for that time and time again. Remember Hitler's WW II Germany? God is just in His judgement and punishment.

Like many who have been executed, Jesus was Innocent of the charges against him. He was charged with sedition or treason. Pilate found him innocent but the Pharisees said they would go over his head to Rome if he didn't have Jesus put to death.

of course jesus wasnt breaking the law. he was bringing his people together to preach. he was killed for his religion. that is more against the law i think. your an idiot for thinking that. i cant beleive you. i dont support anyone in iraq.those laws were created because the people did not like the religion jesus preached. he had to go to many kings untill one decided to kill him. but it was part of gods plan anyway.

I support anyone who stirs up trouble anywhere against the Yankee Invaders.
As far as Christ being a criminal yes he was and he was lucky to get away with Crucifixion. The Romans had many more ingenious forms of execution and the Jews would have stoned him!!!

Where's your point? The whole thing is that Jesus was meant to be crucified, so it doesn't matter weather it was right or not.

Jesus was no criminal...no one could find fault in him..so they turned Him over to the people for them to decide.
And all of this was in the perfect will of God. Jesus came, knowing what was going to happen..No one took His life..He laid it down freely, knowing that it was for me and you.

Jesus committed no crimes. Study His life and discover this for yourself.
