Lucid dreaming like being aware you are in a dream world? I have had several encounters myself. The first few experiences I had was induced by way of tricking my mind. I usually picked up coins endlessly in dreams until waking up. So i willed myself if I'm gonna find coin in real life I won't pick it up and that if there are more than one coin I must remind myself it is a dream. Then one day I had my first chance. I saw many coins around and remembered those self-trainings I had. I immediately gained awareness I was inside my dream. The coins disappeared and the scene changes many times. I was excited but at the same time scared. I wanted so much to wake up but couldn't. I was like a prisoner of my own dream - living in illusion. I felt bad waking up. Didn't took advantage of the situation. However, succeeding dreams are rewarding. I learned and took control of my dreams. Once I realized it was a dream. I took immediate control of my dream and flew like Neo in Matrix and explore the surroundings my mind had created for me.
My advice, don't be scared. Don't rush waking up. It is pointless to do so because your physical body may not be ready yet. Enjoy while it last.
P.S. If you want to stay longer lucid dreaming, don't focus too much on one scene or object like a piercing dagger. Let your experience be as fleeting as possible but not too much or you lose that awareness and become an ordinary dream.

Before you go to bed, tell yourself in your mind you are going to have a lucid dream. Keep reminding yourself of this in your mind as your body relaxes and you naturally rhythmically breathe while you are falling asleep. Keep telling yourself this until you fall asleep. If you wake up in the middle of the night, do the same thing until you fall asleep again.
You may go through several nights like this and not have a lucid dream, I would say, though, within a few weeks of doing this every night you will probably have one. I've had a lot of lucid dreams. They are interesting, but that's about it. As soon as I realize I'm dreaming, the lucidity only lasts for a few seconds. So, I've never really gone "exploring"....
Oh, yeah, one other thing. Make sure you get plenty of rest/sleep. The more well rested your are, the better chance to remember your dreams and the better chance of having a lucid dream. If you are always very tired when you go to bed, you will sleep very hard and not remember your dreams. If you're well rested, you sleep lighter and consequently remember more.
Good luck.

How exactly is someone going to give you advice on that? Lucid dreaming is when you are aware that you are dreaming while dreaming. Are you asking how to do it? Have someone deprive you of sleep for about 5 days and I can pretty much guarantee you that you'll have a lucid dream.

Not really, but this loser I dated way back when had a dark blue paperback book on the subject, and he read it endlessly. I only remember that you have to ask yourself "Am I dreaming?" (while awake) all day for like 3 weeks and then supposedly, you will be able to snap yourself into that state of mind during REM sleep.
