Yes, the husband and wife are a team, each with their own gifts.
The husband is the head of the family, but he is nothing without the wife. The husband is to lead! Why many men don't fulfill their responsibility as men, I don't know. Then again I am not married.

Yeah. The Bible teaches that there is a hierarchy in the household that must be obeyed to preserve stability. Ephesians 5:23--24 says "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing." The husband has more authority than the wife, and both have authority of the children. The idea is supposed to reflect the hierarchy with Christ and the church. Christ is the head of the church as the man is the head of the woman.
This, however, does not mean that the man can do anything he wants. First, he cannot abuse his wife, nor can he neglect his responsibilities to his family. Ephesians goes on to tell husbands to love their wives, even as Christ loved the church. This means that he must treat his wife lovingly and not take her for granted or abuse her. Therefore, this forbids the idea that he can make his wife serve him, or beat her AT ALL, or verbally abuse her, or act as if he is superior. The Bible supports the fact that men and women are, before God, equals.
Secondly, he must still work. The Bible says that the man who does not work to support his family is worse than an infidel. And, also, there's "Thou shalt not commit adultery," along with a host of other laws. The Bible does say that the wife must submit to the husband, but it, at the same time, supports equality between sexes and decries domestic violence and abuse.

According to the Bible, wives are supposed to "submit" to their husbands (and "submit" is in quotations because there are numerous ways of defining that). Husbands are supposed to love their wives as Christ loved the church.
I think that what it all boils down to is that the husband and the wife should treat each other with respect, treating each other the way they would want the other to treat them. I'm no professional in the area, but it has been my observation that couples who don't think of either one of them as being "the head," "the leader," etc. and just kind of go with the flow have the best marriages.

Yes wives are to be submissive to their spouses as their spouses are to be submissive to God- and when the wives are submitting to their husbands, they are also submitting to God.
And Husbands are to love their wives like Christ loved the church-
Ephesians 5:22
[ Wives and Husbands ] Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:24
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Colossians 3:18
[ Rules for Christian Households ] Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Ephesians 5:28
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Colossians 3:19
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

Women
According to the Bible, the man is the spiritual head of the family, and his wife sould acknowledge his leadership. But real spiritual leadership involves service. Just as Christ served the disciples, even to the point of washing their feet, so the husband is to serve his wife. A wise and Christ-honoring husband will not take advantage of his leadership role, and a wise and Christ-honoring wife will not try to undermine her husband's leadership. Either approach causes disunity and friction in marriage.

Yes. Women are. But only insofar as their husbands live up to their end of the bargain: "Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the Church, and gave Himself for her."
I don't know many men who are that loving or willing.

Both. The text goes like this: "Submit yourselves to one another". Then it goes showing how the man whould be a real servant to his wife, loving her, taking care of her, putting here interests ahead of his own, then describes the wife respecting his leadership - which does not mean the kind of abject submission many want to use the Bible for today.
