My 2 yr. old whispers about his imaginary friend (with the same name as my deceased nephew). All of this started the same week my ex-husband and father of my other two children was brutally murdered. He says things he should not know. I'm a little spooked.

the world, which will be destroyed by fire and fervent heat (2 Peter 3:12). You may ask what does Noah's flood have to do with the end of the world? Well, it is very interesting that God begins this chapter speaking about the scoffers of Noah's day and then transitions into the day of the Lord (last day or end of the world). The transition statement is, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." In Genesis 7:4, we read that God gave Noah seven days to get his family and all the animals into the ark before the worldwide flood.

Thinking of starting a new aetheists following (can't say religion 'cos it's not)... and the following are the ten commandments... your opinion of them and additional/replacement ones please..
1. Thou shalt have no god
2. Thou shalt forgive the god botherers as they think they know better... We'll see who has the last word :)
3. Thou shalt not bait the god botherers as it's an unfair competition
4. Thou shalt require physical scientific evidence of any god and not a list of quotes from a religious book
5. Thos shalt not sh4g your neigbours missus/hubby unless they approve
6. Thou shalt not nick thy neighbours stuff... cos he may be bigger than you and an expert martial artist!
7. Thou shalt not kill... unless it's in self defence when the neighbour is practicing his martial arts on you
8. Thou shalt not take anyones name in vein... unless it is bloody funny
9. Thou shalt not refuse the offer of a swift pint
10. Thou shalt not work on any public holidays

I study with the Jehovah Witness' and I recently got married to a gentleman that my study teacher and her husband really didn't approve of. To make a long story short, I didn't discuss my imending marriage to either one of them; just told them about it after I returned home. They are still upset about it. You can cut the tension with a knife when I am around them or talk to them on the phone. They keep saying I am an adult and can make my own decisions, well that's what I did. I thought that it was better to marry, than to burn with passion. 1Corinthians7:8,9. They didn't even congratulate me. They are just stuck on that I didn't tell them. Well there were alot of people I didn't tell. (mainly family members). Is there more to this?

I have been studying my bible and have come across the parables presented in Luke 13: 36-39. Its the part where Jesus is talking about putting new fabric to old fabric, and pouring new wine into old wine skins. Whats the message hes trying to tell?

There is plenty of writing about the Greek Gods, for instance (I know, common example, but it's something I know about...) And there may well have been a Troy, an Aeneas (Roman, not Greek, sorry) and an Odysseus, who knows? Why not believe in Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite etc?
Or if you are certain there is one God, why not the Muslim God? Or maybe you could do as Jews do and don't believe Jesus was the Messiah?
There is no more proof for Christianity than other religions. You may feel your God through faith, but many other people feel the same for their God - who's to say that YOU are the one in the right?

Thanks for any answers.

I saw the movie BoonDock Saints with my husband. I have actually seen it many times. I know that I have felt that way before. It is not fair that so many criminals walk free. The question this movie brought up though is this. Is there such thing as justifiable homicide. I feel that there is so does my husband but our friends thought they were just as bad as the people they were killing. I disagree. In times of knights and kings this would have been known as justice.

And Shepherds we shall be

For thee, my Lord, for thee.

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand

Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.

So we shall flow a river forth to Thee

And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti.

I looked at bibleevidence.com and there is no proof, just people saying "believe this becuase" and then telling you to buy a bible. I personally think it is rediculous to think you have the only "right" religion among the many out there. And all the "proof" people say they have amonts to nothing, honestly. Not only that, but I've heard from a preachers mouth, who has a Ph.D. in religion, that the bible has no proof. It didn't take this for me to know that but it did support it alittle. People say Jesus lived, but so what if he did. There was many men going around at that time with a similar story of "God". How many of you knew this and pass it off. Jesus being a person just more successful at his story. The thing is the bible is so vague, you can relate it to anything. Also, it has been rewriten so many times by people who "heard" nothing from "God", it's like a 2000 year old game of telephone, I wouldn't rely on a five mintue game of telephone. I just want alittle proof from someone.

........yet to believe as Christians do,I have to stop thinking and accept on blind faith.I cant do that because I feel it denies my birthright ,that which separates me from the common animals.
So how does a Christian accept that they are in fact denying their birthright?

I don't need specific ages if you don't want, but maybe a general idea e.g. 'when I was in my teens'
What provoked that belief? Did you just suddenly 'feel' it? Or did you read the Bible or something?

Is the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues still in use? I know people use it incorrectly a lot today. 1 Corinthians 14: 27 and 28 says "if anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God." it's not supposed to be a big yammer fest (1 corinthians 4:23 So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand[g] or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?) there is an orderly way to do it. but someone told me that the spiritual gifts of healing, miracles, and tongues and interpretation of tongues are not still in use. I am confused because the bible says all spiritual gifts will be abolished when Christ returns...not before. if anyone can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it. please back up what you say with Scripture...thank you!

We all know that the Bible was written by Man. So since it was written by man it is highly probable that it is inaccurate. So is it still possible that God is real?
