How much proof can there be for a book writen under the auspices of a pagan roman emperor who worshiped the sun God to his death.
Even The four gospels were not written by the apostles.
They were written close to the end of the first century long after the apostles were dead and gone. The john who wrote revelations was not the apostle john. He was a poor man kept in prison so long that he simply lost his mind and started to imagine a vengeful God who would punish his captors and anyone like them.
The bible was created 2 centurys later by the roman empire to change the message of Jesus to something that the Romans found more acceptable.
This is why it is often difficult to understand. The message of Jesus on the other hand is elegant and simple to understand. You need to separate the message that Jesus left for us from all of the nonsense that the Romans overlaid it with and it will start to become quite easy to understand.
Don't take my word for any of this. Study biblical history for your self and draw your own conclusions. There are many good books on this subject by some intelligent and thoughtful people. Take advantage of their efforts.
Email if you are interested and I will send so suggested reading material.
Love and blessings.

I guess the main question is really whether the Bible is from God given to man or was it a book merely written by man about God. I can make six quick points to prove it is from God although I doubt you will believe it. You seem intent on not believing, but here it is anyway.
1) Fulfilled propehesy: it was not only prophesied that Christ would be a descendant of AbraÂham, (Gen.12:1-3), but that He would be from the tribe of Judah (Gen. 49:10) and the house of David (Ps. 110:1); that He would be born in Bethlehem (Mic. 5:2), born of a virgin (Isa. 7:1 4), betrayed for thirty pieces of silver (Zech. 11:12f.), and also that His hands and feet would be pierced (Ps. 22:16). It is noteworthy that this last prediction was made long before crucifixion was invented as a form of capiÂtal punishment by the Persians and a thouÂsand years before it was made common by the Romans.
2) Unity - the Bible has tremendous unity. It is 66 books, written by over 40 authors, over 1500 years, on three continents. You would think that there would be confusion, chaos, and contradition. Those who claim that it is contradictory have either never read it or are looking for things that appear contradictory. But with a little study of language, customs, and geography they all clear up.
3) It answers all the big questions; who is man? what is his purpose? what is his problem? how is the problem solved? what happens to us after death?
4) It is an index to history. There are people and places and events in the Bible none of which are disputed. Some have not been verified but that doesn't mean they didn't happen or exist. National Geographic has used the Bible to aid itself in research.
5) Lives are changed; In the very town where Jesus was crucified, among the very people who condemnded him, there was a great growth in the church. Just days after he was crucified, 3000 were converted at Pentecost. These were the very same people who screamed for Christ's death (read Acts chapter 2) but now had repented and put their faith in Him.
6) The Bible is a survivor; If the Bible were merely written by men, it would have died out years ago and yet it is the best selling book of all time. Millions and millions are sold every year. It has been burned, scourned, (at times) mistranslated and misunderstood, but yet it survives.
The phone game is a really bad analogy. The Bible was not written and sent out in linear fashion (passed from one person only to another). It was geometrical (like sending cc copies of an email). When copies were made they were written many copies at a time, not one copy and then another years later. Homer's Iliad has only 600 copies and yet historians can agree that what they put together is what he originally wrote. But mention the Bible, of which the New Testament has over 5600 text copies partial and complete, and suddenly we can't trust it.
The Bible was never "re-written". Every translation comes from the best availble text possible. Read them side by side there are some differences in style but if you read the KJV and then the NIV you come out with the same message. Bibles are not translated into German, then French, then Spanish and then into English. They are translated into the receptor language only.
As far as being vague; how vague is this? John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." Seems pretty clear to me.

For that matter, what proof is there of the Quran, and the Book of Morman, or whatever text the Buddhists and Hindu's deem divine.?
I suppose you'd have to understand the word faith....What would my faith in God and Jesus Christ be if I needed proof that He exists? The fact that I am alive and have beautiful healthy children and a husband that loves me is my own "proof"....well more of a reminder that God is present in my life....but I doubt that fits YOUR definition.
Suppose you got a call saying your mother was arrested for murdering your father. Circumstantial eveidence points to the fact that she did it...She tells you she did not.......Who do you believe? (Don't BS us and say you believe the evidence.) You know in a heartbeat you believe that your mother could ever do such a thing.....that's faith.
I have faith that God's love is unconditional and because His Son has already died for my sins I can spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Why would I not want to share that knowledge with everyone so they too can spend eternity with God in Heaven. I can direct you to a Bible to read about God and Jesus, but it's up to you to have the faith.

There have been many translations over the years, but the original text remains the same.
One proof is that of creation and the flood. There are things that these accounts tell of that show why the world is as it is today.
The Bible gives the mechanism of how things came to be, evolution it still looking for it.
A second proof is to go to some Pentecostal and Apostolic churches and have the people pray for you that you may know Jesus your self (you do not have to go to church to know, but many people find it helpful), be honest and tell the people that you do not believe Jesus is real, but you are willing to find out.

Old question. Just look to science and archeology. There is mountains of proof. Watch the discovery channel. If you cant see it your blind and I am not even a Christian. I dont have to be to know that it a historical document with tons of scientific evidence and original writings are still in existence.

Bible predictions of things to happen in the future confirm the inspiration of Scripture as they come to pass. Notice the following examples of fulfilled Bible prophecies:
A. Four world empires to arise: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8).
B. Cyrus to be the warrior to capture Babylon (Isaiah 45:1-3).
C. After Babylon's destruction, it would never be inhabited again (Isaiah 13:19, 20; Jeremiah 51:37).
D. Egypt would never again have a commanding position among the nations (Ezekiel 29:14, 15; 30:12, 13).
E. Earth-shaking calamities and fear toward the end of time (Luke 21:25, 26).
F. Moral degeneracy and decline of spirituality in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
The 66 books of the Bible were written:
1. On three continents.
2. In three languages.
3. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, scientists, attorneys, an army general, fishermen, priests, and a physician).
4. Over a period of about 1,500 years.
5. On the most controversial subjects.
6. By people who, in most cases, had never met.
7. By authors whose education and background varied greatly.
Yet, though it seems totally inconceivable,
1. The 66 books maintain harmony with each other.
2. Often new concepts on a subject are expressed, but these concepts do not undermine what other Bible writers say on the same subject.

There is no proof, and there is very little evidence. What evidence there is simply supports some historical accounts while others completely contradict the stories in the bible. As for evidence of anything supernatural ever happening as stated in the bible... there is absolutely no evidence.

Good luck for New Knowledge about God !!!

Real religion - I don't mean organized religion here, I mean person meaningful religion - is based on faith, not proof. If the bible doesn't do it for you, please do yourself a favor and find something that you can believe in. It will help you.

I can not see you, so, what proof is there that you are real? That you have studied and are not just repeating something that sounds good to you. How can you prove a concept that in not totally comprehensible?
