How did you get that date? I thought the world started in 4004 BC. Wouldn't that make the Flood some 986 years before the Creation?
Regardless, if the world ends in 6000 by the Jewish calendar, we still have something like 250 years left to play with. Which is why I'm not holding my breath about the Rapture. It could happen, but it doesn't HAVE to happen.

I don't know if you're trying to imply something about 2010. But the bible also says Matt. 24:36 - concerning that day and hour, nobody knows, not the angels or the Son, only the Father. then verse 42 continues - Keep on the watch therefor, because you do not know on what day when your lord is coming. You know what that means? It's going to be a surprise for everybody.

The Bible says no man knows the day or the hour. I believe the date you are referring to came from a book written by Harold Camping. I think that's how you spell his name. Anyway, this is not the first time he has tried to pick a date for the return of Christ. I know he believes it will happen in 2011. Ask yourself this though. Do you really think man can know when God will do anything? Unless God has put it in the Bible how could we know?

Actually some Bible scholars believe that the earth will end around the time when the earth reaches 6000 yrs old and then we will spend the 1000 yrs with God in Heaven, like a 1000 yrs Sabbath, reflecting back on creation God made everything in 6 days and rested on the seventh. And also remember a day is like a thousand years to God. Just a thought.

4990 BC? Okay, a solid date...
Hey, that's funny. The Chinese civilization was firnly established before then...and continued right through it. They didn't seem to notice their own destruction. How strange...
And look at this. Other civilizations that didn;t notice they were wiped out: Egypt, Native America, Sumer...

Oh yeah, the biggest wooden boat in the history of the world that one man made in over 100 years. Yet somehow the wood stayed viable for construction. Right. Give us a break.
And don't forget feeding time! One years worth of food for millions of animals.

No one knows the hour, day or week not even the angels know. Only God knows. Let no man seduce you into believing when the end times are. Careful in taking Peters words literally because the earth will not be destroyed. The fire he speaks of is the Holy Spirit.

No, there is no agreement on "God' time. Is a day, a day? A week a year? A 1000 years but a day?

What a load of crap. Gods do not exist and any religion that requires an end to the world only encourages followers to not take responsibility for furthering Humanity and with modern weapons technology, might encourage some among them to attempt to fulfill their silly "End Time Prophesies".
