I was just curious what your responses to this is. This pretty much summarizes the BIGGEST hurdle to me believing in the Bible. Namely, the contradiction of the two accounts. If you could explain this to me, I will be a lot closer to accepting Christianity.

I (probably among many) was totally socked to find that some schools here (UK) have used creationist resources in science lessons, against the current syllabus. Creationism is a religious idea, not a scientific one, for me. UK students HAVE to study Religious Ethics until GCSEs, so they will already know about creationism - why bring it into the science class?

Creationism is clearly also something that would require more evidence than evolution - for example, you are posulating that things have just come into existence pretty much as they are (vs. evolution - gradually) and THEN you are also postulating that there is a designer. Creationism has less proof because of this. There is no scientific evidence for God, OR for all things coming into existence as they are (note I say 'all,' some ferns and obviously crocodiles etc have lasted aaaages.) Whereas evolution - even if it isn't totally proven, does not also require another scientific proof (God) in order to be true.
Any thoughts?

cuz i think he gaves us a brain...then why dont we use it?, i mean... I think God gives us freedom to choose, and to think, etc etc..then why people get all agressive and tell others not to question God, and not to hear different ideas?, i dont mean all of christians of religious people do, but i heard a lot of them to say it... the typical "If you question God you will go to hell"..i think if God would have wanted us not question him or think about him then he wouldnt have given us a brain... if we have one we should use it...

there is so many ideas, religions and theories...i think i'll take my changes to hear them all and find out with his help what is really true and what it is not...

what do u think??

Is there a divine commandment in the Bible that says that nuns should be covered up like that?
Or was this rule established later on by human beings?
I've always been curious but no one's been able to answer me.

Every follower of Christ is different, both in faith, temperment, and his love of God. Do you have a logical answer for the hatred or persection of those who call themselves Christians?

There are many people here, new ones appearing all the time, that abuse this forum. They are stupid inane and many times spewing epithets and slurs. How about if no one answers them. All they are looking for is attention and an answer gives them the attention. Rate them and report abuses, since most of the questions/statements are inappropriate anyway. After a few hundred poor ratings or a few dozen abuse notices they will disappear.

If you could be so kind, can you give me new testament scriptures that say homosexualism is bad? What I'm really looking for is a scripture during Jesus's time. Please no one take offense. Just wondering what the new testament says on this, since all I can see is that Jesus was big on, love you God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

...to say that, because you believe Jesus will return in the next few years, we shouldn't plan too far into the future?

I've seen several posters here imply this more than once, but there are a few here, just for an example: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ahl5LTX2Kgk5_S.3K7HoWVvzy6IX?qid=20061127072040AA1kZgx

Personally, I can see many huge, huge problems that could come of this. Saying "Eh, we don't have to worry about long terms plans to help the homeless or stop wars. Jesus will be here in a little while, just wait and let him clean it up."

After all, what if you're wrong?
