By some people, yes. While many accept it as a part of our lives, others feel that we are all creatures of God and / or Earth and that eating one another is just about the worst thing you can do.
Peace!

As long as humans have not mastered the art of living on pure air ( minus the microbes floating around), or on non living matter ( rocks, sand el.at , minus the microbes embedded in) one cannot help but feed on other living things ( animals or plant or both ) for its own survival.
For reasons best known to them different religions have their own stand on eating habits. Besides every individual is free to follow his / her own conscience.
Objectively speaking, if killing of humans can be justified in the name of some higher purpose or ideal, Killing animals for the sake of food can not be considered evil, unless one can survive without any intake.

No. Most people accept the killing of animals as necessary for sustenence. And don't forget, plowing fields to plant crops kills many more animals than slaughterhouses.
Life requires Death to continue; Death creates and sustains Life. These two are not opposing forces, but rather work in harmony, each continuously creating the other.

No. Meat gives many nutrients and G-d gave man the right to eat meat with Noah and the flood.
I do think it is wrong to kill for the fur, and what one may consider ''fashion''. I consider it a downright sin. But, in cold climate, where the animal is used for food, and the skin for protection against the elements, I feel wearing fur is fine.

2 me yes it is.
factory farming and the cattle industry should b ashamed of their practices and often break their own rules and regulations when & as it suits.
why grow 1 chicken 2 feed a few, when u can grow a whole shed full?
most factory grown chickens cannot support their own weight, as they're force fed steroids, growth building drugs and anti-bio-tics.
same thing as ever Profit and people have 2 eat, why let ethics or animal care get in the way?
tearing down rain-forest 2 grow wheat 2 feed beef cattle, is scandalous!
the planet is suffering enough, with dead zones in the sea from mans over-fishing, now that food demand has spread on land. no good will come from it.

That is totally dependent on who is considering.
If you are asking if religions consider it evil, it varies by religion. Some religions do consider it evil. Many religions, such as those in the Abrahamic tradition (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), encourage the killing of animals.
My personal opinion of evil is causing harm(unnecessary) to others. So, yes, killing animals to eat them is evil.

The delivery of pain is evil, whether it be to animal or human. Obviously, you can't give pain to plants because they have no central nerve system. That is why everything I eat, it did not cause pain it its production.
