If you could be so kind, can you give me new testament scriptures that say homosexualism is bad? What I'm really looking for is a scripture during Jesus's time. Please no one take offense. Just wondering what the new testament says on this, since all I can see is that Jesus was big on, love you God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

Thank you for all your great answers. It's not necessarily the act of homosexuality that I'm talking about. My best friend is gay and it's made me see that calling him a sin is just wrong. I love him to bits. After talking and hanging out with his friends I've learnt somethings, broken the narrow box I was in. Every gay person I've talked to has said that they knew early on in life. So are we to say they can never have love because they were born with an attraction for the opposite sex? I have got to believe that Jesus loves everyone, regardless, and loves them for who they are, cause He is the creator. If you look at His life, He loved people who society brought down. So I'm going to try not to judge. I'm leaving that up to God. I've even met a gay guy who says he has a personal relationship with Jesus. So who's to say he can't? Who's to say he needs to change his ways to be accepted by Jesus. Thanks for hearing my rambling! Have a good day!

There is no verse in the bible that Jesus says "Homosexual sex is wrong" HOWEVER He upheld the OT, and did not say anything to discount the verses in the OT that said it was wrong.

Jesus was but Paul, apparently, wasn't and most come from his writings in 1 Corinthians and Romans. If you read through those books you'll find it's a sin to walk into a McDonald's, sit down and eat when there are people present.

That doesn't exactly sound like the Jesus I was taught about.

Jesus never mentions the subject at all. The only New Testament mentions are in a couple of Paul’s letters. Understand the context. He was trying to get the people of the newly formed Christian churches to turn away from pagan practices.

If you’ve read anything about Rome of that day you know all sorts of very inappropriate sexual activity was going on: orgies, forcing sex on slave children boys and girls. It seems clear to me that these highly inappropriate sexual activities were what let to Paul’s words. After all, in the same verses he condemns drunkenness and other forms of excess.

I find it very odd that some Christians seem to think that sexual immorality ONLY applies to homosexuality. Sexual orientation aside, if anyone is using another as a sexual object, or using sex to humiliate, harm or dominate, this is immoral. I am troubled that some of my fellow Christians want to condemn only homosexual activity as though anything a heterosexual does is fine with God. How we treat one another obviously matters most to God.

Romans chapter 1 speaks of man with man and woman with woman as comming from being unthankful, and then worshiping the created rather than the creator. and finally turned over to a reprobate mind.
it is a contiuation for Leviticus 20 when moses states its an abomination to God

Ist Cor. 6:9-13 says and effeminine and such WERE some of you but you have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

interesting Danielle S. claims to be Jewish yet goes against Moses and the Messiah Jesus-the problem is that my Jewish people that rejected the fulfillment of this commanded blood sacrifice Leviticus 17:11 and fulfilled as prophecied in Jesus Isaiah 52:13-53:12 And he will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins.

the reason is that Judaism had to chose between Moses telling the truth and fulfilment in Jesus or calling them both liars-as the temple was destroyed 70ad and many of my Jewish people came to messiah Jesus others made a new religion and threw away Moses and got their pick and chose religion that rejects the Jewish scriptures needed blood atonement for sins.

well as all of this relates because-they reject truth to follow the errors of their ways and fulfill that as in the time of Noah-with sodom and more-it will be in the last days-so here we are. Shine for messiah!

The Greek word arsenokoitai used in 1 Timothy 1:10 literally means 'men who sleep with men'. It is the same Greek word used for 'homosexual offender' in 1 Corinthians 6:9, variously translated as 'abusers of themselves with mankind' (KJV), homosexuals (NASB) or homosexual offender (NIV).

When Jesus was questioned about marriage, He referred to these 2 chapters (Matthew 19:1-12; Mark 10:1-12). Genesis teaches us that 'male and female He created them' (Genesis 1:27). We were created to a plan male and female complementing each other. That is, God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, nor Madam and Eve.

Does God love homosexuals? YES! Does He condone the lifestyle? no. If God is the same yesterday, today and forever why are people trying to ignore the Old Testament's blatant condemnation of the act? Jesus came and FULFILLED the law and the prophets--He did not ignore them or discredit them. If you want God then you need to take ALL of Him--not just the parts you like. and BTW--sex outside of marriage is also in the same category as sodomy--SIN. But Jesus saves from ALL sin!!! Best place to start--the Gospel of John.

Romans chapter 1 written before 64 AD.Jesus just didn't deal with the question. No body ever quoted Him talking about it anyway.Jesus follwed the law of Moses and it was prohibited by that law.Now we are not under the law .but anything that falls short of God's glory is sin. You'll have to make up your own mind about that.St. Paul says it is not good.

Matthew 5:17-20
17 ‘Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfil. 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter,* not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19Therefore, whoever breaks* one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

note: Im a muslim, but I know what that verse means.. Jesus didnt want 1 iota of the former laws broken.. So if homosexuality in the old testament is forbidden, Jesus forbids it also..... anyone can clearly understand this...

I think Jesus didn't say anything about Homosexuals, but, you shouldn't forget that he was Jew, and he never revoked the sins, he only changed the punishments he talked about pardon, nothing about anything that stop being a sin... He either said anything about divination technics or about eating food more or less kosher, isn't it? Where in a scripture during Jesus' Time talks about kill, rape or incest? only because he didn't talk about it, it leaves of being a sin?

PS. I should say also, that I don't find homosexuality as a sin, but I know my Church (Catholic Church) doesn't think in the same way...
