Who believe that there was a universal flood about 4400 years ago. The one where Noah build a arc and he and his family got saved. I heard someone say that if it was true, then evolution coulnt have taken place. What is your thoughts about this universal flood

I shoot for eight, but never seem to get more than six, and scarcely know anybody who gets more than that. In this day and age of mandatory overtime, long commutes, "making time" for family and friends, it seems as though the one thing most of us have in common is that we're all losing sleep. I was wondering if anybody knew of any studies comparing our sleep cycles to those fifty years ago, when the US was doing well, or perhaps to the dark ages when people woke with the sun and didn't stay awake much past sunset?

Christians only! No disrespect to any others.

When we take the story of Jesus, the bible, God, the plan for salvation etc. It seems there is this emphasis on "believing" Example: That who so ever shall believe upon Jesus etc. The way I honestly see it is this way: We have a very hard to believe story (virgin birth, miracles, Jesus being God) and then we are asked in Christianity to JUST believe this all happened without question. The creator of everything paid a visit 2000 years ago, born of a virgin, died on a cross for me (I'm told). We have this against dozens of other religions that all say that you can ask God to reveal "THEIR" idea of truth and he will if you ask..Holy Spirit etc.

Please explain what I'm missing here.

I ask this question in humility & honesty, if it's true it would seem it deserves my best efforts to uncover truth, if it can be found.

Why the "Believe" part...and how can I believe?
Already tried the prayer thing...nothing 11 years!

Are any of you tired of preachers and teachers telling us that we have to remind the All-Knowing God of what the Bible says? As if we have to hold God accountable-which is clearly role reversal.

Not only that, but the false teachers out there who get desperate people to send them all kinds of money for "special" oils and waters as if those things can really bless them instead of God.

I think that it is utterly ridiculous, and how horrible it will be for them on the day of reckoning!

Tell me what religion you are when you answer.

Lets say a woman and a man both virgins aren't even married yet, but she wants to have a child before marriage, so they go in a hospital, he donates sperm to her womb. Is that a sin or no? What if they weren't dating but she asked him because he's her friend or wanted a baby from him?

and focus on only who the Prophet (pbuh) was.... we do not worship him. He taught of the creator of Heaven and Earth, He taught to get to Heaven you must do good deeds, you must take care of the poor on this earth, and pay charity... you must pray to God alone and worship Him. Why curse out Islam for it's prophet? When it is God that Islam worships, not the prophet...? In Mohammed's life time he did not try to get rich off of his religion, so why do you think he would go through all the turmoil he did when he did not squander a penny, build a palace, or turn people who were slaves or poor away> ?

"Do not limit yourself by putting GOD (the Lord of Creation) into a box."

The Word of GOD says in Matt 9 "Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you".

Do you limit GOD by your own understanding/comprehension because you don't believe or understand whose you are? Dare to DREAM! People often say to children "the sky's the limit," truth is if you dare to have a close relationship with GOD; if you dare to trust him and believe what he says about himself as well as about you. . . There is no limit (for GOD created the sky & is therefore greater than it).

Confession: Greater is HE who is in me than he that is in the world.

Meditation: 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)
However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.

Have you learned anything you didn't know about being a Muslim from a Christian, or about Judaism from a Hindu, or about atheism from a Pagan? Or any other possible combination?

I see many criticism, paganistic affirmations and atheistic views, being expressed by very young people. 12 years old, etc. Being 3 times older than that, I see that what I believed was very limited due to lack of experience, study, etc. Do you think that a person, a majority, can be able to express a viable opinion, without living or experiencing life? At what age would you consider yourself with a firm opinion? What age are you now?

Is it plausable that the protestant/evangelical "Christians" are creating such a large following to raise up an army of brain washed individuals to take over the world, and execute all those who refuse to believe likewise?

then why can some civilazations be traced back further than that?

I dont have a problem with people believing what they want I was just curious as to how those of you who believe in such a young earth can explain this. The only example I can think of off the top of my head is the ancient Egyptian civilazation which started 5000 bc, putting it at 7000 years ago.

Thanks for any serious answers

Jesus in John 14:12 & Mark 16:17-18 said: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." This implies that Jesus’ true followers should be able to routinely perform the following tricks: 1) cast out devils, 2) speak in tongues, 3) take up serpents, 4) drink poisons without harm, and 5) cure the sick by touching them and MANY other of Jesus’ "works". Curiously I have yet to see a Christian that can do any of the above on demand.

Are there still people that think evolution is a fact, or is true, or happened, or is happening, or whatever?
I have read a book called the Evolution Cruncher, and it makes sence to me. Basicly it gives proof to why evolution is false. Anybody else read the book? Just need opinions, please.
