Why do people attack Islam...?

and focus on only who the Prophet (pbuh) was.... we do not worship him. He taught of the creator of Heaven and Earth, He taught to get to Heaven you must do good deeds, you must take care of the poor on this earth, and pay charity... you must pray to God alone and worship Him. Why curse out Islam for it's prophet? When it is God that Islam worships, not the prophet...? In Mohammed's life time he did not try to get rich off of his religion, so why do you think he would go through all the turmoil he did when he did not squander a penny, build a palace, or turn people who were slaves or poor away> ?

Why do people attack Islam? And our Prophet(pbuh)?
It's simple, unfortunately.
Ignorance is the leading factor, but also, we're just a flavor of the decade.
Historically, the masses need to villianize some collective group of people to create the illusion of stability in the universe.
The illusion of good vs. evil has always existed throughout histrory. It will take years, if not decades, for people to finally look back on these times and feel shame for their words and actions.
If you look at WWII, and the mass exterminations by the Nazi's, you will see that at the time, there was loads of propaganda circulating against the Jews. There are preserved news papers and leaflettes that were passed around stating the filth of the Jewish people, which created and propetuated sterotypes that still exisit today.
At the time, many people were dragged into that cycle of hate and ignorance due to lack of education, and the result was the death of over 6 million Jews while the rest of the world sat idley by.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but this is no different. it will take years.. decades... maybe even more for people to see what they were dragged into by our governments and our "leaders". And by that time, it will be to late to offer consolation to the victims of all of this hate and war.

P.S. I'm really tired of hearing people say that Muslims did not protest the events that occurred on 9/11 and 7/7. The media may not publicize these protests, but they happen constantly. As a journalist AND a Muslim, I can say without fear of being proven wrong that peaceful Muslims do not make headlines - only the loud, angry minority does.

Your question should be "Why do Islamic extremists attack everyone?" There are people in this world who use religion as a backdrop and a crutch to justify their actions. If these poor followers of Islam would put the same amount of effort into helping the poor, caring for the needy, providing education(not religious rhetoric) instead of sectarian violence, misogynistic laws, not to mention blowing up anyone who disagrees with their views maybe no one would bother them. Now I know not all Muslims are bad, just a small %, but where is the outrage to the conduct of these few? The good need to stand up and say enough is enough and deal with the ones who are bringing this treatment on the whole. As with all religions, and governments money and power corrupt. I have met strict, and moderate Muslims and Jews, and Christians, but for the most part regardless of what any one religion teaches they are all the same in the end, don't kill, don't steal, be kind, help when needed.

You cannot have Islam without the Qu'ran. I've read the Qu'ran, three times, in a concordance I was refered to by the local mosque, which contained the arabic version and three different english interpretations.

I found no truth in it, and much that was morally in error and flawed.

Further, in modern times, there is a growing swell of fundamentalist and jihadist Islam, and yet none of the moderates or liberals have stepped up to even symbolically shake their finger at the evil these people are doing. When Timothy McVey did what he did, his own family condemned him most highly, his religion called him evil. I haven't much fondness for Christiantiy either, but at least Christians will call something evil what it is -- evil, instead of, "well, but, the USA or Israel was oppressing them and ..."

You want people to respect Islam, figure out how to get the moderates and liberals to stand up as a unified voice and say, "NO. The extremes these people are going to are NOT right, under ANY circumstance."

Because it is an ideology of deceit. When Mohammed had no power it was the religion of Peace until he got power and then it was ok to steal, enslave and kill. Mohammed did get rich by raiding Jewish settlements. And I think he lived quite well and did own slaves.

Because it is the teachings of its prophet that Islam is based. Mohammed was a psychopath and a sociopath and his teachings reflect that sickness.

But whether one chooses to believe that truth or not, the real reason why people attack Islam is primarily because adherents of Islam attack others without provocation in the name of their god. Self defense is an inalienable right not normally accorded to the victims of the adherents to the prophets teachings.

You do not worship the Prophet but you believe his lies. God is not one who misleadeth or schemes. Muhammad's goal was a simple and appealing religion, oriented to a salvation which can be achieved by one's own works. If that is the case, then why do you need God. We are not saved by works, but by Jesus Christ. You don't believe Jesus is God, so you are lost.

Um, 9/11 and 7/7 didn't help.
Oh, and the fact that after 9/11 very few Muslims protested the event, and yet whenever someone gets together to protest in favor of Israel or anything like that, Muslims are up in arms.
I don't hate Muslims, but somehow I believe that the majority of them are crazy now. You may not be, and I'm glad you're not if you aren't, but that's just the reality.

They just speak out their ignorance when they talk like this. Whoever don't know our prophet and islam and just follow the fake sites which are meant to damage the great teachigns of islam ,always come up with idiotic posts. i just feel pitty for them.but when someone realy try to know islam and find out the reality admits that islam is a great religion and Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) was a great man. and thats why islam is fastest growing religion. according to one publications from 1934 to 1984 there percent of spread of islam was 224% while on the other hand it was just 47% for christanity. such a marked difference shows that there is some truth in this religion that peoples are converting to it. and this is also a answer for those who says islam is spread by sword as there was no such islamic war between this era.anyways i just feel pitty for those peoples

Islam is dedicated to world domination... all who are islam are to convert, by any means, all of the world... at the point of the sword or by lying PR. those who will not convert will be "tolerated" but they will be less than second class and will pay tax for the privelege of living... at least untill domination is compleat..then all tolerance will end...IMO(in my opinion)... islam is the greatest evil facing th world today. it was founded at the point of the sword and is inforced at the point of the sword,,, IMO, islam should be eradicated wherever it is found... and those deceived and enslaved by it should be freed and rehabilitated...IMO, there is only one islam...the so-called "moderate" islamies are no better than the American catholics who do not obay the pope...islamies must follow islamie law.... and there is only one islamie law... kill all who will not submit to islam...
